说到短宣，各方评价不一。有人认为，短宣时间短，来去匆匆，很难看到明显的宣教果效，容易流于形式，甚至给接待方带来负担。的确，与长宣比较，短宣起点不一样，装备也不一样。

长宣需要长期的准备和训练，以及资金上的充分支援，培养一名长期宣教士也极其不容易。愿意献身长宣的基督徒也非常缺乏，以北美为例，基督徒大多是在职人员，愿意加入长宣的人少之又少——所以在这种情形下，笔者认为，作为不可或缺的宣教方式之一，短宣在当下的北美行之有效，且有很大的发展潜力，值得大力推广。

笔者从事短宣已经五、六年。通过自己的经历，我看到，对基督徒来说，短宣是灵命成长不可替代的途径之一；对教会来说，短宣是灵命复兴的方法之一；对于禾场来说，短宣的意义也是非常重要的：无论是短宣队队员的恩赐，还是短宣队给予经济上的资助，都能成为当地福音扩展的重要助力。

作为生活在北美的基督徒，我虽然有规律的教会生活，但仍然觉得亏欠主的大使命。而参加短宣，给基督徒提供了参与主耶稣大使命的机会。虽然参与者的恩赐和灵命水准参差不一，但是短宣队作为一个团队，其能量不可低估。笔者参加由新希望全球事工组织的短宣活动五年，看到洪都拉斯的儿童事工和监狱事工规模越来越大，影响范围越来越广， 在当地的福音推广中起到了重要的作用。

此外，由新希望提供的宣教平台六、七年来，一共吸引了近千人次参与，这个平台向千余名洪都拉斯普通群众和儿童以及千余名犯人传福音，其果效不可低估。此外，新希望构建的宣教平台还辐射至非洲肯尼亚、欧洲乌克兰、亚洲等地区，支持几百名孤贫儿童，并使他们听到福音教导。

总之，短宣队和与当地教会的合作配搭，使得两股力量凝聚在一起，让福音得以广传。

记得第一次参加校园短宣，我加入了诗歌敬拜团队。我们唱完7首歌后，同工有简短的布道，然后呼召学生决志信主，出乎意料之外，有许多学生愿意接受主耶稣。这是我参加其他营会没有见过的。其实当天传讲的资讯非常简单，我想背后一定是神悦纳了我们的赞美敬拜，圣灵运行在我们当中，神感召这些同学信主，这是我第一次在服事中经历与神同工。

之后，在洪都拉斯的监狱布道，更是震撼，让我真实感受到神的同在。当天敬拜结束，我们做完见证，牧师简短的布道后，当他呼召犯人信主的时候，我们看到一批批的犯人走向台前，跪下接受主耶稣做他们的救主，此情此景就是圣经中得人如得鱼的真实写照。许多短宣队员都流下激动的眼泪，那是经历神的喜悦。

在短宣中，每一次看到这种景象，我们都知道，这是圣灵同在的见证，不是我们的见证有多好，也不是牧师的布道多精彩，而是圣灵自己的作为。这种情形，有时很难在教会生活中看到，但当我们走出自己的舒适圈，去更广大的禾场，我们就能经历到与上帝同在的美好，这也是让许多基督徒一次次愿意参与短宣的动力。

曾多次参加短宣的景昆弟兄说：“不是洪都拉斯监狱的犯人需要我们，是我们需要他们，不是儿童助养中心的孩子们需要我们，而是我们需要他们；也不是吉尔吉斯家庭教会的宣教士需要我们，而是我们需要他们……”。每次他看到正在经历属灵挣扎的弟兄姐妹去到宣教的禾场，神能使其从不冷不热的状态振作起来。

许多参加过短宣的弟兄姐妹，都有同样的感受。此外，无论是早上的灵修，还是晚上的分享，都会潜移默化地造就大家。记得第一次参加短宣，我遇到了马里兰哥仑比亚华人教会张瑞新牧师（他们教会组织了多次短宣），我问牧师为什么要出来短宣，他说是为了“充电”。这些年，他坚持每年都带领弟兄姐妹岀来短宣，因为短宣启动了他的教会，教会的灵命有很大的复兴；自从开始短宣，教会人数也增长了近一倍。

对我来说，参加短宣也是一个奇妙的经历。一开始，我坚信自己不会加入短宣队，因为工作很忙，更别说抽出一周时间。没想到神用了一个特殊的方式（我失业了），让我没了不参加的理由。为了试练自己的信心，那时我想，我要先去短宣，后找工作。没想到短宣回来，神赐给我一份工作，不用从早干到晚，周末也不用加班，这使得我后面有更充足的时间加入宣教。从一年一次，到一年几次，我十分感激神给我参与短宣的机会，使我的信心和灵命有了飞跃的成长。

在北美教会长大的孩子，往往是学校、教会、家庭三点一线，他们虽然参与教会活动，但常常分不清他们信的是父母的神，还是他们自己的神。在离开母会进入大学后，不少孩子就在信仰上流失了。让孩子们参与短宣，虽然有时只有一个星期，但当他们离开熟悉的环境，来到一个陌生的地方，与其他陌生弟兄姐妹相处，参与服事，这使得他们有机会来思考自己的信仰。

张瑞新牧师的孩子在教会长大，但迟迟没有信主。他父亲邀请他加入短宣时，他百般不愿意，去到禾场，开始的几天，他这看看那看看，临走前一天，他突然放声大哭，愿意受洗，并且为当地的孩子祷告——张牧师喜极而泣。这样的故事在短宣队时时发生。

2022年，我们全家去洪都拉斯短宣，女儿当时是大学生，儿子是高中生，尽管他们都已受洗，但其实我们也无法知道他们信仰的真实情况。在之前，女儿挑战我们说：你们把路费、以及短宣的开销捐给有需要的人群，不是比你们自己去更有用吗？

但之后，她的态度有了一百八十度的改变。她告诉我们，她去探访了一个印第安部落的家庭，她走进他们的家，与他们交流，走之前她牵手为他们祷告，拥抱每个人。那主人对她说，过去也有人去探访他们，但没有进门，只是把一包衣服丢在门口，我女儿是第一个走进他家与他们说话的人。

女儿听了非常感动，她才明白，真正的爱不是给钱，是让人感受到神的爱。这次短宣对我女儿的信仰产生了极大的促进作用，后来，她不仅资助了一位印第安部落的儿童，而且毕业时，她参加了所在教会的两个短宣，一个是服事父母弃养的孩子，另一个是服事无家可归人群。如今，女儿在新的教会也积极服事。

大多数基督徒的奉献，一般都是针对教会，很少会愿意资助宣教士或其他宣教活动，因为没有身临其境的感受，就很难有负担。但当短宣队员来到服事的禾场，他们看到真实的需要，神在他们心中动工。

比如我们教会，如果不是身临其境地看到那些孩子的需要，很难想像，我们会愿意用金钱支援那些跟我们没有关系的儿童事工。再比如洪都拉斯的监狱事工，一开始当地宣教士因为没有经费的支持，传福音的果效有限，但后来新希望团队看到他们的需要后，他们的经济支援成为监狱事工发展的重要助力。

即便在同一个教会呆了十几年，兄弟姐妹也很少朝夕相处超过一周，然而短宣却提供了这样的机会。大家朝夕相处，一起服事，彼此交流、分享，通过这种近距离的接触和相处，弟兄姐妹在宣教中结下了友谊，这友谊非常特殊，有极强的凝聚力，有人说，他们在教会几年的交往，还比不上一次短宣的交往能更增进彼此的友情。

总之，短宣是一个富有生命力和创造力的宣教活动，它依靠的是团体而非个人的力量。短宣有多种方式。在我参与短宣这些年的经历中，我看到神的禾场巨大，单靠少数长期宣教士来开拓和牧养，是非常困难的。

许多的案例也充分证明，短宣队与长期宣教士的有效配合，可以让福音的传播和发展更有成效。因此，希望有更多的基督徒能走出自己的舒适圈，踏上宣教的道路，去到禾场，去探访宣教士，去学习宣教士的奉献精神，协助他们的事工，为神的国度共同打那美好的仗。

We live in a world full of brokenness. At times, we are wounded by the sins of others; at times, we stumble because of our own weakness. Yet it is through these cracks that the grace of God shines in, illuminating our darkness, and revealing that His power is made perfect in human weakness.

For thirty-six years, Living Hope Global Ministries has been serving in places of brokenness. There, we have witnessed both pain and miracles—the hungry being fed, the weary shepherds renewed in strength, and the forgotten finding hope and new life in Christ.
This summer, one of our short-term mission teams served at a small church in Honduras. They helped with children’s ministry, provided medical care, and helped the church build a protective wall. That day, the courtyard rang with the laughter of children. Among them was a boy named Isaac, whose radiant smile lit up the whole place. It might have been the happiest day of his life.

Yet two weeks after the team left, we received heartbreaking news— Isaac’s father, under the influence of drugs, had violently beaten him. When our local coworkers rushed to visit, they found him hiding under the bed, trembling and too frightened to come out. With tears in their eyes, they told us, “Isaac’s story is only one among countless children suffering in this land.”

It is for children like Isaac that God has called Living Hope Global Ministries to serve. He has entrusted us with a mission—
 
     To Care for lives, comforting the wounded and strengthening the weak;
     To Change lives, proclaiming the gospel of redemption and hope;
     To Commission forth lives, carrying God’s love and truth to the ends of the earth.

May the Lord who has called us into His mission strengthen our faith with His love, and renew our vision with His light. Whatever lies ahead, may we walk together in unity, continuing to serve with faith and hope— until the day His glory fills the earth.

然而，两周后传来的消息，却令人心碎——以撒的父亲因吸毒失控，回家殴打了他。当我们的当地同工赶去探望，只见他蜷缩在床底下，浑身颤抖，不敢出来。同工含着泪告诉我们：以撒的故事，只是这个国家无数受苦孩子的缩影。

正是为了这些像以撒一样的孩子，神呼召新希望全球事工前行。祂托付我们去——

        关怀性命，安慰受伤、扶持软弱；
        更新生命，宣扬救赎与盼望的福音；
        差派使命，将爱与真理传递到地极。

愿那呼召我们一同参与祂使命的主，以祂的爱坚固我们的信心，以祂的光更新我们的异象。
无论前路多艰难，愿我们同心前行，在信心与盼望中继续服事，直到那荣耀的日子来临。

Looking back on this year’s mission trips to Honduras, our hearts are filled with gratitude. We thank God for His abundant grace, and we thank every coworker, intercessor, and supporter who has walked with us in unity on this journey of missions. The path of missions is not without challenges, yet we have witnessed faith, courage, and love shining through difficulties—testifying to God’s wondrous works.

During this summer’s mission in Honduras, we saw with our own eyes how God’s hand was at work. Six short-term mission teams visited 23 churches, serving alongside local brothers and sisters reaching about 2,750 children and adults. We carried out a variety of ministries: we held Vacation Bible School (VBS) programs for children, helping them know Jesus through games, songs, and Bible stories, and experience the love and joy that come from God; we provided medical services, offering basic health checks and medicine to meet physical needs and demonstrate Christ’s compassion; we visited families in need throughout the community, praying with them and bringing God’s comfort and hope through our actions; we also helped with the repair and renovation of local churches, strengthening places of worship so they can continue to serve as beacons of spiritual renewal and hope in their communities; and throughout it all, we kept sharing the gospel, bringing the message of salvation through Jesus Christ to every seeking heart. In addition to visiting seven prisons—where we shared the gospel with more than 2,000 inmates and witnessed over 300 decisions for Christ.

Every smile, every prayer, and every moment of service was a living testimony of God’s love and grace. These experiences remind us that missions are not only about “going out,” but about “living out” our faith. Every participant—whether serving in person, giving financially, or praying from afar—plays a vital role in proclaiming the gospel through action. God does not call the perfect, but those who are willing to obey and serve. Because of your faithfulness and passion, we have seen His glory revealed throughout the world.

Looking ahead, may we continue to walk with joyful and humble hearts, allowing God to use every step of obedience to bring His light and love to the nations. Together, let us witness each life that is touched, each heart that is renewed, and every story transformed by the power of the gospel.

回顾今年洪都拉斯短宣的服事，我们的心中充满感恩。我们感谢神的丰盛恩典，也感谢每一位同工、代祷者与支持者在这条宣教之路上的同心同行。宣教的旅程并非没有挑战，但我们看见，信心、勇气与爱心在困难中闪耀，见证着神奇妙的作为。

在今年夏天的洪都拉斯宣教中，我们亲眼见证了神的手如何动工。六支短宣队走访了 23 间教会，与当地的弟兄姐妹一同服事了2750位儿童与成人。我们开展了多样化的事工：我们举办了儿童 VBS（假期圣经学校），让孩子们在游戏、诗歌与圣经故事中认识耶稣，领受从神而来的爱与喜乐；我们进行了医疗服务，为当地居民提供基本的健康检查与药物援助，在身体的需要上彰显基督的怜悯；我们走进社区，探访贫困家庭，为他们祷告用行动传递神的安慰与盼望；我们也协助当地教会的修缮工程，使敬拜的场所更稳固、更温暖，成为社区属灵与生命更新的灯塔；同时，我们也在各个角落持续分享福音，将耶稣基督的救恩信息带给每一颗渴慕的心。除了服事教会，我们探访了七次监狱，向超过 2,000 位狱友传讲福音，并见证超过 300 位决志信主。

每一个笑容、每一次祷告、每一个服事的瞬间，都是神爱与恩典的真实见证。这些经历提醒我们：宣教不仅是“出去”，更是“活出”。每一位参与者——无论是亲身服事、奉献支持，或是在远方代祷——都在以行动传扬福音。神并非拣选完美的人，而是拣选那愿意顺服、愿意付出的人。正因你们的忠心与热情，我们得以看见祂的荣耀在世界各地显明。

展望未来，愿我们继续带着喜乐与谦卑的心同行，让神使用我们每一个顺服的脚步，将祂的光与爱带到世界各地。让我们一同见证每一个被触动的生命、每一颗被更新的心灵，以及因福音而改变的故事。

My experience in Honduras completely overturned my previous understanding. I came to realize that a person's happiness is not determined by what kind of job they have, what kind of house they live in, or how much money they make, but rather by their relationship with God—by how much they set their eyes on heaven, how much hope they have, and how deeply they trust in Him.

I saw the adults and children serving with us there, praying with such focus and reverence. When they talked about God, their eyes lit up. Their dependence on and trust in God were so genuine, and an invisible power struck and moved me deeply. It’s really hard to describe clearly with words or just a few sentences.

My time in Honduras also made me understand that only those who have experienced suffering truly realize how limited their own strength is—and thus rely more fully on God. They come to grasp how precious salvation is. Everyone on earth will experience suffering, but because of God's love, we are no longer alone and can be full of hope.

I shared my testimony as a believer for the very first time in the largest prison in Honduras. To this day, I still can't remember exactly what I said. I just remember that the inmates listening to me would start clapping from time to time. I saw their eyes soften; some were secretly wiping away tears in the corners.

There was an old man clutching a Bible to his chest, repeatedly saying "Amen." I also remember that a pipe burst in the prison that day, and one man held a towel tightly around it to keep the sound of spraying water from disturbing our sharing.

When we were about to leave, those inmates crossed the yellow line that separated us from them to come shake our hands. After that experience, I realized that sharing our testimony is not just about telling our own story—it’s about telling God’s story. And any story that belongs to God is worth sharing and proclaiming.

在洪都拉斯颠覆了我之前的认知，人活得幸福与否真的不在于你做着什么样的工作，住着怎样的房子，赚多少钱，而是更在于你和神的关系如何，你把多少的眼光放在天上，有多少盼望，有多么的信靠神。

我看到当地与我们一起服事的大人和孩子们祷告时专注虔诚的样子，他们谈论到神时候眼睛都在放光，我看到他们对神的仰望和信靠是无比真实的，有一种无形的力量给我带来冲击并感染着我，我真的无法通过文字或三言两语可以描绘清楚。

洪都拉斯的经历也让我明白，经历苦难的人才能知道自己的能力是多么有限从而更加信靠神，才能明白救恩是多么重要，地上的人都是会经历苦难，但是因着神的爱我们不再孤单，并满有盼望。

我人生第一次讲自己信主的见证是在洪都拉斯最大的监狱里，到现在也想不起当时自己都说了些什么。只记得听我讲话的狱友时不时就开始鼓掌，我看到他们的眼神变得柔软，有人在角落里偷偷擦着眼泪，把圣经抱在胸口的老爷爷一遍一遍说阿门，我还记得那天监狱里的水管爆了，有一个人为了不让喷水的声音影响我们的分享，他用毛巾死死的把水管按住。

当我们要走的时候，那些罪犯跨越了分割我们和他们的黄线，过来和我们握手。在这件事之后，让我意识到我们分享见证不只是在讲我们的故事，更是在讲神的故事，只要是神的故事，就是值得分享和传讲的。

From the moment we landed in Honduras, something special started to happen. Even though many of us came from different church branches and didn't know each other well, we quickly bonded. It was amazing to see how our shared faith in God brought us together. By the end of the trip, these strangers had become brothers and sisters to me; people I truly won’t forget.

We served in areas that might seem dangerous or even intimidating. Some of the neighborhoods were known to be controlled by gangs, and I had heard stories that made me hesitant before coming. But while we were there, I experienced a deep sense of peace and protection. Whether we were walking through the streets, helping in local churches, or even just buying snacks at the supermarket, I felt God’s presence, and He covered our team every step of the way.

The churches we also went into were also very far away, but that didn’t matter if we had God on our side. No one got tired throughout the week, and everyone was so happy to do their job. What I learned is that our role isn’t to convert hearts; that’s God’s job. Our job is to show up, to love, and to share the gospel boldly and faithfully. And in that, I learned to trust God more deeply. I learned that even in unfamiliar places, even when the conditions aren’t ideal, God is still in control. He’s working through us, even when we can’t see the full picture.

Honduras changed me. It reminded me of the power of unity in Christ, the strength of faith in action, and the beauty of trusting in God’s plan, especially when things are out of our control. I’m so thankful I got to go, and I’m even more thankful for what God did while we were there.

从我们一落地洪都拉斯开始，就感觉有些特别的事情在发生。虽然我们当中很多人来自不同的教会分堂，彼此并不熟悉，但我们很快就建立了深厚的感情。令人惊叹的是，是我们对上帝的共同信仰把我们紧紧连结在一起。到旅程结束时，这些原本陌生的人，已经成了我真正的弟兄姊妹，是我永远不会忘记的人。

我们服事的地区，从外表看，可能会让人觉得危险甚至有些吓人。有些社区据说是由帮派控制的，我在来之前也听说过不少令人犹豫的故事。但当我们实际到达那里时，我内心却有一种深深的平安与被保护的感觉。无论是我们走在街道上、在当地教会帮忙，还是仅仅去超市买点零食，我都能感受到神的同在和对我们团队的看顾。我们去的许多教会也非常偏远，但只要有神与我们同在，路途的遥远根本不算什么。整个星期没有人感到疲惫，每个人都非常喜乐地完成自己的服事。

我学到的是，改变人心的工作不是我们的责任，那是神的工作。我们的责任是去到那里，去爱他们，去勇敢而忠心地传讲福音。在这个过程中，我学会了更加信靠神。我明白了，即使是在陌生的地方，即使环境并不理想，神仍然掌权。即使我们看不到全貌，神也在透过我们做工。

洪都拉斯的这次经历让我改变了。它让我再次看到基督里的合一有多么强大，看到信心的行动有多么有力，也看到信靠神计划的美好——特别是在我们无法掌控的时刻。我非常感恩我能够参与这次旅程，更感恩在我们在那里时，神所做的一切。

I had the pleasure of serving on the short-term mission trip to Honduras in July. I can't express the emotions that I experienced on this mission.

I am older than most of the people who go on these trips, and I have seen poverty in many areas of the world. I was amazed at how all members of the team came together to work in Christ for those less fortunate. This was my first mission trip, and I wasn't sure what to expect. It was great to see a team of total strangers come together to do God's work. By the end of the mission, we were working together like a well-trained team. Most of us knew how to set things up when we arrived.

I felt the spirit of the Lord moving in me several times while there. I wanted to help everyone I saw. The children made a large impression on me. The joy they got from simple things, and the joy they had when they were being taught songs, and learning about Jesus was very touching for me. They showed their gratitude in the most simple and honest of ways. I remember a little boy who I had not even interacted with, came up to me and hugged me. This told me that we were making a difference to these children. 

I was taken back when we visited the prison. All those young men live under terrible conditions. It was obvious that many of them were starved for the word of God. Most of them are just happy to have someone new to see. I was reminded of Matthew 25:36, "When I was in prison, you came to see me". Christ does not want these people forgotten, and I think it is an important part of this trip. It reminded me of how God has been active in my life. Had it not been for his blessings I could have ended up in a similar situation.

我很荣幸在七月参加了前往洪都拉斯的短期宣教之旅。在这次宣教中，我许多的感受都是难以用言语表达。

我比大多数参加这类宣教的人年纪大，而且我也曾在世界上许多地方见过贫困的状况。但让我感到惊讶的是，团队中的每一位成员都齐心协力，在基督里一同服事那些不幸的人。这是我第一次参加宣教活动，一开始我并不知道会经历什么。然而，看到一群原本互不相识的人，能够聚在一起为神的工作而努力，实在令人感动。在宣教结束时，我们已经像一个训练有素的团队一样合作无间。大多数人一到达就知道该做什么、怎么做。

在那里，我几次深深感受到主的灵在我心中的动工。我看见短宣队的每一个人都想去帮助那里的民众，当地的孩子们给我留下了深刻的印象。他们从简单的事物中获得的喜乐，以及在学习歌曲和认识耶稣时所表现出的快乐，令我非常感动。他们用最简单、最真诚的方式表达感谢。我记得有一个我并未与之互动过的小男孩，主动跑过来抱了我一下。这个举动告诉我，我们确实在这些孩子身上带来了改变。

当我们参观监狱时，我感到十分震撼。那里面的年轻人生活在极其恶劣的环境下。很明显，他们中许多人极度渴望听到神的话语。对他们来说，有新的人来看望他们就是一件开心的事。我想起马太福音25章36节：“我在监里，你们来看我。”基督不希望这些人被遗忘，而我认为这也是此次宣教中非常重要的一部分。这让我想起了神在我生命中的作为。若不是祂的恩典，我也可能落入类似的境遇。

Everything is by God’s grace. In 2023, when our church launched a short-term mission to Honduras, I didn’t expect to go. Work made it impossible to take time off, but after an unexpected surgery and recovery, God opened the way. Though physically weak, I experienced the truth of His promise: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”

Traveling with my two children through mountain roads and rivers, I saw lives that deeply touched me. The local children slept on cement floors, without clean clothes or proper beds, yet their faces shone with joy and their hearts overflowed with a hunger to worship. My daughter, Anita, normally quiet and reserved, began hugging those dusty children. I knew it wasn’t her—it was God’s love flowing through her.

During a prison ministry visit, my son, Cody, collapsed from heat exhaustion. The inmates immediately gathered around him, fanning him with cardboard and offering cold drinks and ice packs—precious things in prison. Through tears, he whispered, “Mom, they don’t seem like prisoners. God’s love has changed them. I want to change too.” That week, both Anita and Cody were baptized on Tiger Island, joyfully declaring their faith in Christ.

Miraculously, my chronic back pain eased during the trip, and peace filled my heart. Returning to New York, we cherished God’s blessings even more. Our church elders were amazed by my children’s transformation—only the Gospel can truly change a life.

Later, at a gospel conference, I dedicated myself to full-time ministry training, and my children also committed to live for Christ. By 2025, they helped lead more youth to join the Honduras mission. Though from different congregations, the young people served with one heart, learning the truth of “Paul planted, Apollos watered, but God made it grow” (1 Corinthians 3:6).

In the prison ministry, we witnessed hardened men repent and embrace one another. Even the toughest hearts among our youth were softened as they saw God’s love at work. The Gospel’s light shone brightly in a place the world calls hopeless.

Now, our hearts are ready to go again. Many forgotten corners still await the touch of Christ’s love. We invite you to join us—to carry God’s light and hope to the ends of the earth.

一切都是神的恩典。2023 年，当教会推动洪都拉斯短宣时，我原本并没有打算参加。因工作无法请假，但在一次意外的手术与康复期间，神为我开了道路。虽然身体软弱，却真实经历祂的应许：「我的恩典够你用，因为我的能力是在人的软弱上显得完全。」

与两位孩子同行，我们翻山越岭、涉水前行，见到许多令人感动的生命。当地孩子睡在水泥地上，没有干净衣服，却充满喜乐，对敬拜神满有渴慕。女儿 Anita 平日害羞内向，却主动拥抱那些满身灰尘的孩子——那是神的爱在她心中运行。

在2023年监狱事工中，儿子 Cody 因中暑晕倒。狱友们立刻围上来，用纸皮为他扇风，买来饮料和冰袋——这些在监狱里是极珍贵的物品。Cody 含泪对我说：「妈妈，他们不像犯人，是神的爱改变了他们，我也想改变。」那一周，两姐弟在老虎岛受洗归主，公开宣告信仰。

奇妙的是，我多年的腰痛在短宣期间得了医治，心中充满平安。回到纽约后，我们更加珍惜神的恩典。孩子生命的转变令教会长辈惊叹——唯有福音的大能，能带来如此真实的更新。

后来，我们参加福音大会，我将自己奉献，全职装备神学课程；孩子们也立志为主而活。今年，他们鼓励并带领更多青少年重返洪都拉斯。虽然来自不同分堂，但同心事奉、彼此相爱，并明白真理：「保罗栽种了，亚波罗浇灌了，惟有神叫他生长。」（林前 3:6）

在监狱事工中，我们见证罪犯悔改、彼此拥抱；连青少年最刚硬的心也被融化。福音的光照进人以为绝望的地方，改变了一切。

如今，我们预备再次出发！世界上仍有许多被遗忘的角落，等待神的爱临到。邀请你与我们同行，将祂的光与盼望带到地极。

I was adopted from China through Living Hope at 11 months old. The first 11 months of my life is essentially unknown, but I realize that the life, family, and culture I could have grown up with in China would have looked much different than the way my life looks today. The nature of being adopted can lead to thoughts of feeling like I was unwanted and unloved, at least at one point in my life. The idea of being lovable is definitely something I have struggled with in the past, along with other uncertainties that relate to identity, but I know those are all lies from the enemy. I was loved and chosen by my adopted mom, but more importantly, I have always been loved and chosen by God, and my identity is found in Him and who He says I am.  

I am currently attending a church that I love and am surrounded by a church family that I am proud to be a part of. I have served in many different ministries at church, and I was even recently elected to serve as a member of the church board, which is a huge honor. It is so cool to be a voice that helps guide the church in the way the Spirit is leading. I have actually found myself in a lot of leadership positions recently, which is ironic, because I never saw myself as a leader, but God has a funny way of using you in ways you may not have thought possible. While I am loving where God has me right now, it has been a long journey to get to where I am today. Past me would not have believed that current me was even a possibility.  

The single greatest and most loving thing my mom did for me was introduce me to Jesus. Even though I grew up going to church, I did not take my faith seriously or even really grasp what that meant until more recently. My family was attending a different church for a while, but returning to Immanuel Church helped me develop and grow in my faith and grow socially in ways that were not possible without God. I was the extremely shy girl who did not really speak to anyone but still showed up because deep down, I desired community. I just didn’t know how to get there. God placed the right people in my life; people who were patient with me and kind and loving enough to show me how to be a good friend by modeling that to me. These are also people who live out their faith well, and it is a blessing to get to learn from them. They were a big contributing factor to my decision to get baptized in October 2023. The transformation that God has done through me over the past few years is truly a miracle.  

At Immanuel, I learned the beauty of community and what a church family is, and God sure has blessed me with a great one! I am one of those people that has a hard time saying “no,” but I truly love serving in the church and helping wherever and whenever I can. I do get busy, but the time and effort put in is meaningful to me. We were made for community, and God places people around us that we get to do life with; people we can encourage, love, serve, and support as we walk with Christ and grow towards Christlikeness.  

The beauty of serving as the body of Christ is seeing all the different gifts and talents God has given to each individual and utilizing them to complement each other and serve Him together (1 Corinthians 12:18-26). Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to see the unity of the body of Christ in action on an international level in Honduras by being a part of my first mission trip. I couldn’t pass this opportunity up as I knew God was calling me to serve in this way and challenging me to take a step outside my comfort zone. The decision was further solidified as I knew the trip was co-led by Samuel Fang (Living Hope) and Andrea Sawtelle (Immanuel Church), both of which have played pivotal roles in my life.  

While it has been a long and messy journey at times, I know God had a plan for my life from the start. He continues to walk with me each step of the way, and I am excited to see what He has for me next.  

我是在11个月大时通过 Living Hope从中国被收养的。我生命最初的11个月基本上一篇空白。但我意识到，如果我在中国长大，我的生活、家庭和文化都会和现在完全不同。被收养的身份有时会让我产生一些想法，比如被遗弃或不被爱的感觉。这些年，我也曾怀疑自己是否值得被爱，还有一些关于身份认同的困惑，但我知道这些都是来自仇敌的谎言。我的养母深爱着我、选中了我。更重要的是，上帝一直爱着我，祂拣选了我。我的身份在于上帝，是祂定义了我是谁。

我现在正在参与一个我非常喜欢的教会，并且被一个我引以为荣的教会大家庭包围着。我在教会里参与了很多不同的事工服侍，最近甚至被选为教会执事会的一员，这是一个极大的荣誉。能成为一个在圣灵带领下，为教会指引方向的声音，真的很奇妙。其实，我最近发现自己在很多领导岗位上，这是我完全没想到的，因为我以前从来不认为自己是个领导者，但上帝就是会以你意想不到的方式来使用你。虽然我很享受上帝如今带领我所在的位置，但一路走到今天真的经历了很多。过去的我若是看到现在的自己，根本无法相信这是可能实现的。

我妈妈为我做过最伟大、最充满爱的一件事，就是把我带到耶稣面前。虽然我从小就去教会，但其实一直没有认真看待我的信仰，也不太明白那意味着什么。我们家曾经去过另一间教会，但回到 Immanuel Church后，我的信仰才真正开始成长，我的社交能力也在上帝的帮助下有了突破。曾经的我是那个非常害羞、几乎不和任何人说话的女孩，但我还是会去教会，因为内心深处我渴望有一个属灵群体，只是我不知道该如何融入。上帝把合适的人带到我生命中——那些对我有耐心、充满善意、有爱心的人，他们用自己的榜样教会我如何成为一个好朋友。他们的信仰也非常真实，我从他们身上学到了很多。他们在我2023年10月决定接受洗礼的过程中起到了非常重要的作用。过去几年，上帝在我身上的改变真的是一个奇迹。

在Immanuel Church，我学到了属灵群体的美好，明白了什么是真正的教会家庭，而上帝真的赐给我一个很棒的教会！我是那种不太会说“不”的人，但我真的很喜欢在教会服侍，愿意在任何有需要的地方尽力帮助。虽然有时候会很忙，但我知道我的时间和努力都是有意义的。我们是为群体而造的，上帝也把我们放在一个群体中，让我们可以彼此鼓励、相爱、彼此服侍、互相支持，一起走在通往基督样式的路上。

作为基督的身体，我们一起服侍的美好在于能看到上帝赐给每个人不同的恩赐和才能，彼此配合，共同事奉祂（哥林多前书12:18-26）。今年上半年，我有幸第一次参加宣教之旅，前往洪都拉斯，亲眼见证了基督身体在全世界范围上的合一。我无法错过这个机会，因为我知道上帝呼召我以这样的方式来服侍祂，并挑战我走出自己的舒适圈。这个决定也因为Samuel Fang（Living Hope）和 Andrea Sawtelle（Immanuel Church）共同带队而更加坚定，他们两位在我生命中都有非常重要的影响。

虽然这是一段漫长又有时坎坷的旅程，但我知道从一开始，上帝就为我的生命定下了美好的计划。祂一直都与我同行，我也满心期待祂接下来要在我生命中做的事。

Growing up, I was always quick to say “yes” to anything that needed to be done at church. I genuinely enjoyed it—but if I’m being honest, it was more about being seen, making friends, and feeling important. Glorifying God wasn’t really part of the picture. Over time, service became a source of pride and identity for me. I wanted others to see how “good” I was through what I did.

That started to shift after my first mission trip to Honduras in 2023 and going through baptism classes with Pastor Douglass. I began asking myself: If my motives are selfish, why does God keep giving me chances? It hit me that He allows us to be part of His work not because we deserve it, but because of His grace. That realization sparked a desire in me to serve for God’s glory—not my own. For a while, I was on a spiritual high, excited to serve and love others in His name.

But as time passed, I slowly drifted back into old habits. Leading up to the 2025 Honduras trip, I felt pride creeping in again. I began relying on myself more than on God. Eventually, the weight of that pride caught up with me, and I felt distant from Him. So, I prayed and asked God to use this trip to draw me back.

And He did. On the trip, I experienced a renewed joy in praising God—something that had started to feel like a chore. I saw how worship could unite people of all ages and backgrounds, all glorifying God together. I was reminded that praise only brings true joy when it’s focused on Him, not on us.

Even our time at the mission base was filled with moments of growth—through Bible studies, devotions, and conversations that constantly pointed us back to God. John 15:5 really stuck with me: “I am the vine; you are the branches... apart from me, you can do nothing.” It taught me how crucial it is to stay connected to God, especially when serving.

This trip rewired my heart. Now, I aim to check my motives before I serve, pray for God to work through me, and remind myself that service and worship should come from a place of joy and humility—not pride or performance.

在2025年这次洪都拉斯宣教之旅前的几个星期，我真的在为自己的骄傲挣扎。无论是在教会内外所做的事情，都让我开始觉得自己好像不再那么需要神了。这让我意识到我需要重新寻求祂，但我的骄傲依然非常强烈。于是我向神祷告，求祂借着这次旅程重新调整我，让我归回祂。每次我们出去帮助他人时，我都祷告求神使用我去帮助孩子们，同时也借着这些孩子和青少年来帮助我更亲近祂。

回头看，神真的做到了。在这一周的时间里，我重新感受到敬拜神的喜乐，而这原本对我来说已经变成了一种负担。我看到了敬拜的力量— —它能让原本不会跳舞的人跳舞，让各个年龄层的人一起跳舞、赞美祂的名，把我们之间的分歧和自我都放在一边。我真正明白了：唯有当敬拜扎根于神，而不是自己时，才能带来极大的喜乐。

神不仅在我们服事的教会中动工，甚至在我们居住的宣教基地也在工作。我们在那里有查经和灵修，而让我印象最深的是：一切的学习和对话，都在教导我们从神的眼光去看事情，而不是从自我出发。因为祂是葡萄树，我们是枝子。我们若常在祂里面，祂也常在我们里面，就必多结果子；因为离了祂，我们就不能做什么。（约翰福音1 5 : 5）

我学到要常常以荣耀神为目标，而不是荣耀自己，这并不容易，尤其当你处在一个被人仰望的位置时更是如此。但你必须在每一次服事之前，祷告求神检查你的内心，愿祂在你里面工作，而不是只靠自己。

这次洪都拉斯之旅真的是把我重新带回神的面前，无论是在服事还是敬拜中。在这次旅程之后，我希望能继续在每一次行动前反省自己的内心，看它是出于我的骄傲还是出于神，并祷告求神使我成为祂的器皿，去帮助别人，也帮助我自己，不再迷失在掌声与关注中。

Living Hope walks hand in hand with churches in four regions to care for children and their families. Through a church-centered model, we not only meet daily needs but also bring the Gospel into homes—transforming lives with God’s love.

Honduras: Currently caring for many children through 6 partner churches. In 2026, we hope to expand to 10–15 churches, allowing more congregations to witness God’s mighty love by serve their communities through child sponsorship.

Kenya: Currently supporting 124 orphans at Mbooni Children’s Home and 64 at Kathonzweni Children’s Center. Next year, we plan to expand Kathonzweni’s capacity from 64 to 75 children, providing more holistic care in education, nutrition, and spiritual growth.

Ukraine: Partnering with Lviv Central Baptist Church to care for 89 widows and children. In 2026, our team plans to introduce this model of widow and child care to surrounding churches, helping more families trapped in despair to find new hope.

Asia: Working with many partner churches to care for 157 children. Local co-workers have begun reaching out to indigenous communities, praying that the Gospel may spread among more unreached peoples, so that they too may experience the love and salvation of Christ.
These partnerships embody the vision of Living Hope Global Ministries —Care for and support orphans, widows, and vulnerable groups, following the Great Commandment to love God and our neighbors.

洪都拉斯 ：目前我们通过6间伙伴教会，助养了许多周边的贫困儿童。2026年，期望扩展至10至15间伙伴教会，让神大能的爱透过更多教会的儿童助养事工彰显出来。

肯尼亚：目前在Mbooni孤儿院有124名孤儿；在 Kathonzweni有64名孤儿，明年计划将Kathonzweni 儿童中心从 64 名扩展至 75 名。在教育、营养与属灵成长上提供更全面的帮助。

乌克兰 ：与 Lviv Central Baptist Church合作关怀 89 名阵亡军人的遗孀及孤儿。2026 年，团队将向周边教会推广阵亡军人的遗孀及孤儿的关怀模式，帮助更多陷入绝望的家庭重燃盼望。

亚洲 ：目前透过许多教会关怀 157 名儿童。当地同工已开始接触原住民族群，盼望福音能在更多未得之民中传播，使他们经历基督的爱与拯救。这些伙伴关系展现了新希望全球事工的异象—关爱资助孤儿寡妇弱势群体，遵行爱神爱人的大诫命。

I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. — John 10:10

Through the sponsorship ministry, we have witnessed God’s wondrous works time and again. He not only allows children to survive, but renews and transforms their lives—turning them from the ones who receive love into those who share love, from those who receive blessings into those who become a blessing.

Jimmy and Sherry lost their mother early on, and their father supports them by repairing electric bikes. Kevin works part-time during school breaks to help his family, and Maya, who lost both parents, now lives with her grandparents. Local volunteers often invite them home for meals or take them out to eat, warming their hearts through companionship and prayer. The children affectionately call the volunteers “Auntie.” Through these everyday acts of love, they came to know Jesus—and all have now become believers.

Two young orphans, Leo and Jacob, are cared for by their aunt. Volunteers visit them regularly, help with school drop-offs, celebrate birthdays, and care for them when they’re sick. Once resistant to faith, their aunt was deeply moved by years of genuine care and eventually opened her heart to Christ. Now, she and the children attend church together. The boys have learned to pray and rely on God in times of hardship.

Abraham’s mother went missing, and his father is disabled due to a stroke. Volunteers have faithfully brought him to church weekly, prayed with him, and cared for him like family. Once withdrawn and quiet, Abraham has become joyful and open, now eagerly participating in church life. He attends four church gatherings each week, studies The Life of Christ, and serves others with a willing heart.

University student Jonah was introduced to church life through the sponsorship program. He joined a three-month Gospel fellowship where he enjoyed warm community, discussion, and prayer. During an outdoor retreat, Jonah personally experienced God’s love. He decided to be baptized and even performed in the Easter drama “The Love of Calvary.” Though now in his internship year, Jonah remains closely connected with the fellowship and continues to grow in faith.

All these stories bear witness to God’s marvelous work in life, rebirth, and mission. From meeting physical needs to building faith, and finally to living out God’s calling, these children are walking step by step into His beautiful plan. We thank every brother and sister who has given, prayed, and walked alongside this ministry. Because of you, the story of love continues to unfold.

在助学事工中，我们不断看见神奇妙的作为。祂不只是让孩子们活下去，更让他们的生命被更新、被改变，从被爱到能去爱，从领受祝福到成为祝福。

Leo和Jacob两位孤儿由姑姑抚养。志愿者们长年探访、接送上学、陪伴过生日、探望病中。曾经抗拒信仰的姑姑，因着长久的爱心关怀，终于敞开心门，如今与孩子们一同信主并参与聚会。孩子们学会了在困难中祷告、倚靠神。

Abraham从小母亲失踪，父亲患病。志愿者每周接送他聚会、陪他祷告，从冷漠孤僻的孩子，到如今热情开朗、积极参与服事，Abraham的生命被主翻转。他现在每周参加四次聚会，认真学习圣经课程《基督生平》，也主动服事他人。

大学生Jonah因受助而接触教会，被邀请参加三个月的福音茶话会。在温暖的团契中，他学会了分享与祷告，也在户外营会中亲身经历神的爱。后来，他决志受洗，并在复活节圣剧《各各他的爱》中担任演员，用生命见证主的恩典。如今即使进入实习阶段，Jonah仍与团契保持联系，持续在信仰中成长。

这一切的故事，都见证着神在“性命、生命与使命”上的奇妙工作。从温饱的供应，到信仰的建立，再到生命的委身，孩子们一步步走进神的计划中。感谢每一位奉献、祷告与同行的弟兄姊妹，因为有你们，爱的故事仍在继续。

At Mbooni Children’s Home, 124 children and 10 dedicated staff members are thriving under the loving leadership of Pastor Joshua. In recent months, several repairs and maintenance projects have been completed, creating a safer and more comfortable home for the children. New dairy cows and 100 laying chickens are now providing fresh milk and eggs each week—blessing both their health and their smiles.

At Kathonzweni Children’s Home, 64 children are growing strong under the care of Manager Elijah, whose leadership and godly example have been a steady encouragement. Repairs continue there as well, and plans are underway to welcome even more children by the end of the year.

Both homes’ greenhouses, poultry, and dairy farms continue to flourish—providing nutritious food and at times even extra income through local market sales. This September, both homes began a solar power project. Kenya’s electrical grid can be unreliable and costly, so this sustainable energy solution will not only reduce expenses but also greatly improve daily living conditions.

Education remains a major focus for Kenya’s Kids. Many of the children come from difficult backgrounds and struggle in school, but with support and tutoring, hope is growing.
Through every project and every story, we see God’s hand at work—restoring lives, strengthening faith, and giving hope. Thank you for your faithful partnership in prayer and giving. Together, we are witnessing the beautiful transformation of hearts and futures in Kenya.

One story especially touches our hearts—Janet Wambua, a university student and sister to one of the children at Kathonzweni.

After losing her father, Janet’s mother had to move away to find work, leaving Janet and her siblings with their grandmother. Despite hardship, Janet excelled in school and was accepted into Kenyatta University, where she now studies English. This year, she returned to Kathonzweni as a tutor and mentor, living among the children and helping them with their studies.

Janet shares: “Despite many hardships, I am inspired by my mother’s strength and sacrifice. My dream is to write stories that give hope and use my words to make a difference. My story is one of courage and the unwavering hope of a brighter future.”

Her faith and perseverance have deeply inspired the children. Because of this success, we plan to expand this tutoring program to Mbooni in the coming months.

在Mbooni 儿童之家，现有124位孩子与10位同工，在Joshua牧师的带领下健康成长，充满喜乐。过去几个月里Mbooni儿童之家完成了多项修缮工程，让孩子们有一个更安全、更舒适的家。另外，Mbooni儿童之家还添购了几头奶牛，能产出更多牛奶；同时新增的100只母鸡已陆续下蛋，为孩子们的餐桌增添营养与笑容。

在Kathonzweni 儿童之家，目前有64位孩子，预计年底将增至75人。主任Elijah 以坚定的信心与温柔的榜样带领团队，他们持续修整儿童之家的设施，为年底可以迎接接收更多孩子做准备。

两间儿童之家的温室大棚、家禽与乳牛饲养都在稳健发展，不仅丰富了孩子们的日常饮食，也能偶尔将多余的收成拿到市场售卖。今年9月，两个儿童之家安装了 太阳能系统。当地电力供应常常不稳定且费用高昂，这项投资将大幅改善生活品质，也能长期节省支出。

教育一直是Kenya’s Kids事工的核心。许多孩子来自艰苦的背景，学习上曾面临挑战，但上帝正在改变他们的生命。

在每一个项目、每一段故事中，我们都看见上帝奇妙的手——祂在恢复生命，坚固信心，赐下盼望。感谢每一位在祷告与奉献中与我们同行的弟兄姊妹。因为有你们，爱与希望的故事仍在继续书写。

其中一位令人深受感动的年轻人是Janet Wambua。她是Kathonzweni一位孩子的姐姐。父亲早逝后，母亲为了养家外出工作，把Janet与四个弟妹交由祖母照顾。虽然生活艰难，Janet 仍努力读书，最终考上了 Kenyatta University，主修英文。如今，她选择回到Kathonzweni儿童之家担任助教，与孩子们同住，耐心辅导他们学习。

Janet分享说：“尽管经历许多困难，我仍被母亲的坚强与牺牲所激励。我的梦想是成为一名作家，用文字带来希望，用故事改变生命。我的人生故事，是勇气与不灭盼望的见证。”

Even as the war continues, our partners in Lviv Central Baptist Church remain faithful in caring for widows and children affected by the conflict. Even though the road ahead is difficult, they persevered with faith and love, bearing witness to God's presence and grace.

During the summer, the church team organized children’s day camps and teen camps. As fall began, they prepared for the new school year and planned more activities to involve the children regularly in church life. Because COVID-19 has begun spreading again, some women are unable to attend, yet ministry continues with hope and perseverance.

The first school-year women’s meeting was held on September 13, followed by two preparation meetings for the coming semester. More pastors and women are joining the ministry to serve war widows. In one nearby region, another church has also started a program for widows. Currently, six small groups of widows and children meet every two weeks for fellowship and Bible reading. Pastor Bogdan’s wife leads one of the groups, and four women who were once participants are now helping lead others. As relationships deepen, more women have begun reading the Bible, seeing God answer their prayers, and valuing Christian fellowship. Some now attend church regularly, while others are still hesitant. To reach them, the team is preparing a retreat on November 20–22 for about 50 women who have never joined before.

Co-workers continue home visits. Natalia, the lead staff member, visits families every two weeks. She shared with Living Hope that she recently helped Orest install a small lift at home, as he needs to go to the hospital for dialysis three times a week. Sister Julia was baptized last year. Her daughter, Rusa, is frail and often ridiculed for her faith, but she remains steadfast, saying, "The Church is my only home."

Michael, who serves in hospital, continues sharing the gospel with patients. He recently met a young wounded soldier who was moved to tears in church. “The only hope,” Michael told him, “is in God.”

May the Lord continue to strengthen them so that His Church can be a source of light and comfort in troubled places.

在今夏，教会团队举办了儿童夏令营与青少年营会，让孩子们在游戏、学习与团契中重新绽放笑容。进入秋季后，他们积极为新学期作准备，并规划更多活动，鼓励孩子们持续参与教会生活。虽然新冠疫情再度蔓延，使部分妇女暂时无法聚会，但事工仍在盼望与坚忍中继续前行——因为他们深信，主的爱从未止息。

9月13日，教会举办了新学年的第一次妇女聚会，随后召开两次筹备会议，为新学期的服事立下清晰方向。越来越多的牧者与妇女加入服事行列，一同关怀战争遗孀。在邻近地区，另一间教会也回应呼召，开展了寡妇事工。目前教会共有六个小组，每两周聚会一次，一同团契与查经。Bogdan牧师的妻子亲自带领其中一组，而四位曾经只是参与者的妇女，如今也成为新的组长。随着关系的加深，更多妇女开始阅读圣经，亲身经历神垂听祷告的真实，也更加珍惜基督里的团契之爱。有些人已开始固定参加主日崇拜，另一些仍在观望。为了接触更多尚未参与的妇女，团队正筹备于11月20日至22日举办一场退修会，预计将邀请约五十位新朋友同行。  

同工们持续进行家访，主要负责同工Natalia每两周都会有家庭探访。她跟Living Hope分享，最近她协助Orest在家中安装了小升降机，因为他每周需到医院透析三次。Julia姐妹，去年受洗归主。她的女儿Rusa体弱多病，还因信仰常被人讥笑，但她仍坚定地说：“教会是我唯一的家。”

在医院服事的Michael，也不断向伤兵传扬福音。最近，他遇到一位受伤的年轻士兵，这位士兵在教会中听见信息后感动落泪。Michael 轻声对他说：“惟有在神里，才有真正的盼望。”愿主继续坚固他们，使祂的教会在苦难之地成为亮光与安慰的泉源。

Our one-week medical mission trip in Honduras has come to an end. Throughout the entire process, I kept thinking of the classic old Indian film Caravan. In the movie, gypsy performers travel from village to village in their caravan, making a living through performances. They sing, dance, perform acrobatics, and even tell fortunes—captivating audiences wherever they go.

The medical mission team—made up of the Compassion Ministry team of the Church of the Nazarene in Honduras and the short-term mission team from Living Hope Global Ministries (“Living Hope”)—traveled daily in minivans and trucks through rural towns and villages across Honduras. Centered around local churches, we set up tents, performed puppet shows, provided free medical services, free haircuts, painted church buildings, and brought the gospel and the love of Jesus to places that needed it most.

In a sense, our team truly resembled the caravan in that movie.

This outreach combined medical services with local church evangelism. Within one week, we served four churches, shared the gospel with more than 500 youth and adults, sowed seeds of faith, and strengthened the influence of local congregations.

Before each visit, the local churches informed residents about the free medical services. Whenever our caravan arrived, crowds were already gathered around the church waiting for care. Honduras is one of the poorest countries in Central America, and many families cannot afford medical treatment.

At each location, the team first set up a large tent, arranged chairs, and built a stage for puppet performances. With songs and dances, they welcomed groups of children and youth. Through puppet dramas, the gospel message was clearly and completely presented. Afterward, the team led the children in singing praise songs.

They performed five or six shows each day. These young members of the Compassion Ministry team—full of energy and dedication—came from multiple local churches. After the praise time, they led the children in prayers of commitment. The children prayed sincerely; their pure hearts were the best soil for the gospel.

After hearing the message, the children moved on to the craft activity room, which was a specialty of the Living Hope team. Four members prepared a variety of engaging crafts that were both educational and enjoyable. Each child also received a small gift as a loving keepsake of the experience.

After the crafts, the children received medical care. The medical services were organized in three stages:

1. Measuring vital signs, including height, weight, blood pressure, and pulse.
2. Medical consultation and diagnosis, followed by a prescription.
3. Receiving medication at the pharmacy table, where volunteers carefully explained how to use the medicine.

After the medical services, children could also receive free haircuts. They all looked refreshed and full of confidence.

Two Spanish-speaking team members explained the core truths of the Christian faith to adults. After hearing the foundational message, adults also proceeded to the medical service area. In this way, both children and adults heard the gospel before receiving medical care.

The churches we supported during this outreach were relatively small, and their buildings were modest in appearance. The short-term team members repainted the church walls, making them more attractive and strengthening their presence in the community.

A distinctive feature of this mission trip was that everyone had opportunities to use their gifts and skills. Every team member participated in service, and the ministry remained flexible. Members frequently switched roles, allowing for diverse experiences and maintaining high enthusiasm and passion.

This was my fifth time joining the Living Hope short-term mission team in Honduras. Compared with previous years, this outreach was quite different. In earlier years, the focus was primarily on serving at children’s centers. This time, the scope was broader and provided greater opportunities for adult team members to contribute. In previous years, youth formed the core of the mission teams, interacting with local children through Vacation Bible School (VBS) programs during the summer, strengthening faith and fellowship. Adults mostly supported the youth-led VBS efforts. This time, however, adults and youth each ministered directly to adults and children, respectively.

Honduras faces serious economic hardship, and gang influence is widespread. Some of the communities we served are under gang control. Due to economic pressures, some young men join gangs to survive. The Compassion Ministry team aims to rescue youth from gang influence.

Over the past several years, Living Hope’s ministry in Honduras has borne abundant fruit. Prison ministry is thriving. Two children’s centers have been established, and several small churches have been supported. However, serving more churches, reaching larger populations, and ministering to more children has long been on the heart of Pastor Fang, the President of Living Hope.

Last year in Kenya, Pastor Fang met the leader of the Church of the Nazarene in East Africa, who also oversees ministry in Central and South America. Before coming to Africa, he had been planning community gospel outreach through the Compassion Ministry, focusing especially on children and youth—seeking to win the next generation from gang influence.

The Church of the Nazarene has more than 200 churches in Honduras, spread across cities and rural areas, reaching tens of thousands of people. Living Hope joined the Compassion Ministry team, contributing North American strengths in medical expertise, children’s ministry experience, and financial resources (such as purchasing medications). Together, they brought the gospel to more children, youth, and adults. This decision led to a new model of cross-cultural medical short-term missions.

As Scripture says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him” (Romans 8:28). In 2025, Living Hope organized six mission teams to participate in Compassion Ministry outreach, assisting more than twenty churches and sharing the gospel with thousands of people.

Caravans filled with love now travel along the rural roads of Honduras, spreading the gospel far and wide.

洪都拉斯一周的医疗宣教活动结束了，整个过程让我想起了一部印度的经典老电影《大篷车》。吉普赛艺人的大篷车活跃在各乡村，以卖艺为生，他们会唱歌跳舞、耍杂技，还会给人看手相，非常吸引人。

由洪都拉斯拿撒勒教会Compassion Ministry（以下翻译为“怜悯事工”）团队和新希望全球事工（简称“新希望”）短宣队组成的医疗福音团队，每天开着几辆中巴和卡车，行走在洪都拉斯的乡村小镇，以当地教会为中心，搭建帐篷，表演木偶戏，提供免费的医疗服务、理发、刷墙，同时把福音和耶稣的爱带到最需要的地方。我们的团队，从某种形式上，真的与电影《大篷车》很相似。

这个活动，是以医疗服务配合当地教会做福音外展工作，在一周内共服务了4间教会，向500多位青少年和大人讲解福音，播下福音的种子，帮助当地教会扩大影响力。

首先是当地教会告知百姓有免费医疗服务。每当宣教车队抵达时，教会周围己经挤满了等待看病的人。洪都拉斯是中南美洲最贫穷的国家之一，有许多家庭看不起病。

医疗福音团队每到一地，先支起一个大帐篷，摆好凳子，搭好木偶戏表演台，用歌舞迎接一批批孩子和青少年。福音团队用木偶剧的方式给孩子们完整讲述一遍福音。然后带领孩子们一起唱赞美诗。每天演出五六场，他们是整个团队最有活力，付出最多的队友，这些怜悯事工团队的核心成员，来自当地多个教会，大都很年轻，活力四射。赞美结束后，他们就带领孩子们做决志祷告，孩子们都很认真地跟着祷告，那单纯的心，是福音的最好土壤。听完福音的孩子们可以进入手工活动室，这是新希望短宣队所擅长的项目。四位教会同工，准备了丰富多彩的手工活动，不仅让孩子们增长知识，又㝢教于乐。活动后每个孩子还能获得一份爱心礼物，留给他们美好的回忆。

做完手工的孩子们接下来会接受医疗服务。医疗服务分三块，首先测生命体征，包括身高体重，血压心率脉博；然后经过医生诊断后开处方，最后到药品桌子那里领取药品。发放药品的同工会详细介绍药品使用方法。医疗服务是新希望短宣队为主，怜悯事工团队为辅。孩子们还可以享受免费理发，理过发的孩子个个神彩奕奕。

有两位会说西班牙语的短宣队员会给成年人讲解基督信仰的核心内容，听完基要真理后，他们也会到医疗服务区接受医疗服务。这样大人孩子在接受医疗服务之前都会听过一遍福音真理。

这次医疗福音团队所支持的教会，规模相对较小，外观也差强人意。于是短宣队队员们就将教会的墙壁重新油漆一遍，让教会更美观、更有吸引力，也是对当地教会的有力支持。

这次宣教活动，一个突出的特点就是人人都有机会发挥能力和特长，每位队员都参与服侍，而且事工非常灵活。团员们能够经常互换角色，服侍多样化，让队员们一直保持高昂的兴致和激情。

这已经是我第五次参加短宣队来到洪都拉斯，这次宣教活动跟以前有相当大的改变，前几年以在儿童中心服事为主；这次短宣服务面更广，且给成年队员提供了更充分的发挥空间。前几年的宣教活动主力是年轻人，他们通过暑期圣经学校(VBS)活动来与当地儿童中心的孩子们互动，达到彼此交流和坚固信仰的果效，当时的成人短宣队员是配合小孩和青少年的VBS，这次短宣，成人和青少年各自服事当地的成人和孩子。

洪都拉斯的经济非常困难，黑帮势力很大。我们服侍的社区，有些就在黑帮的控制下。一些成年男性因生计所迫，加入黑帮。怜悯事工团队就是要把青少年从黑帮的势力中拯救岀来。

过去几年，新希望在洪都拉斯的服侍结出了丰硕成果，监狱事工正如火如荼地展开，他们建立了两个儿童中心，并且还服侍了几个小教会。然而，如何服务到更多的教会，更大的人群，更多的儿童，一直是新希望领头人方牧师在思考的问题。

去年在肯尼亚，方牧师偶然认识了拿撒勒教会的东非负责人，他是负责中南美州事工的。在来非州之前，正在策划怜悯事工团队社区传福音活动，服务的重点是儿童与青少年，要与黑帮势力抢夺未来的一代人。

拿撒勒教会在洪都拉斯有两百多家教会，分布城市乡村，覆盖上万人群。新希望加入洪都拉斯拿撒勒教会怜悯事工团队，用北美教会的专业优势（医疗）、儿童事工经验和经济资源（购买药品），配合怜悯事工团队把福音传给更多的儿童和青少年，以及成年人。新希望的这个决定，就促成了新希望与洪都拉斯拿撒勒教会怜悯事工团队的合作，开始了一个全新的跨文化医疗短宣新模式。

这正验证了圣经中的一句话：“万事都互相效力，叫爱神的人得益处。”（罗马书8:28）2025年，新希望组织了六个短宣队加入怜悯事工的服事，帮助了二十几间教会，向数千百姓传福音。

Before going to Honduras, I thought this mission trip would be a great opportunity for my daughter Angela and me to grow in gratitude and gain a deeper understanding of life’s purpose (Read Angela's testimony here). And it truly did all that—but it also became so much more.

We served alongside several local churches. I primarily worked at the children’s station, where we helped the local ministry share the Gospel using the five-color bracelet. We sang, danced, and performed puppet shows. Our team also led craft activities while the children waited for their medical checkups and received vitamins and medicine.

What touched me most was the joy and gratitude of the children—even though they had so little. At one waiting area, Angela and I chatted with two boys, Jareth and Evans. They were curious about the U.S., loved soccer, and admired Messi. During our conversation, the local church offered us hot tea. We assumed it was ginger tea, but they explained it was made from sawgrass. Wanting to show us, they went to the kitchen and brought back the leaves. Although they had already received their care, they stayed just to talk and share their lives with us.

We also visited a little boy named Mateo. His house was made of mud, and his kitchen and bathroom were built from scraps of wood and metal. Before we left, he ran to Angela and gave her an egg from his chicken coop—his way of saying thank you. An egg may mean little to us, but to him, it was a costly gift. We were deeply moved by that moment.

The team doctor told us that nearly every child examined had parasites due to contaminated water. It was heartbreaking. These kids have so little and are often in poor health. Yet, through their smiles, their eyes, and their actions, we saw humility, strength, and the love of God. Many times, it felt like they were the ones helping us—reminding us just how truly blessed we are.

At the last church, we moved the children’s VBS program to a nearby school. The school, which serves grades 1 through 7, only had two classrooms. In Honduras, there’s no summer break, and students attend school in half-day shifts due to limited resources. That morning, the 3rd and 4th graders were in class. In the afternoon, students from other grades would come. Sadly, many children still cannot attend school because they cannot afford uniforms and books. High school is even more difficult to access, and most youth never receive a secondary education.

Without education or support, many young people fall into gang life. Gangs often target poor families by offering financial help, then later recruit their children into crime. We saw the devastating results of this during our visit to Ilama Prison, which houses over 4,000 inmates convicted of serious crimes. Most of them were young men from families like those we met.

Our mission team served about 500 children and adults across four churches and shared testimonies and worshipped with 280 inmates. Each evening, we gathered to reflect and pray. These moments drew me closer to God. I realized that true obedience to God’s Word doesn’t just mean worshiping in my own church—it means going out to serve, to love, and to bring hope where it is needed most.

We may not be able to change the situation in Honduras overnight, but we went to plant a seed—and our God will make it grow. At the airport, we met other mission teams and knew that God is at work in Honduras. I’m so thankful we got to be part of His mission and to be His witnesses.

Please pray for the families in Honduras—for clean water, access to education, better lives, and protection for their children. Most of all, pray that they would come to know the love and hope found in Jesus Christ.

Finally, I want to encourage everyone—especially our youth group—to go on a mission trip. Step out of your comfort zone and plant a seed in a land that needs it. When we go to bless others, we often return more blessed than we ever imagined.

在前往洪都拉斯之前，我以为这次宣教之旅会是我和女儿Angela一起学会感恩、并更好理解人生意义的好机会 （阅读Angela的见证）。事实确实如此——但这次旅程带来的远远不止这些。

我们服事了当地的几间教会。我主要负责儿童的工作。在那里，我们帮助当地的同工用五色手链传讲福音。我们一起唱歌、跳舞、还表演了木偶剧。我们团队还负责带领那些等待健康检查、领取维生素和药物的孩子们做手工。

最让我感动的是孩子们的喜乐和感恩，即使他们几乎一无所有。在一个等候区，Angela和我跟两个男孩Jareth和Evans聊天。他们对美国充满好奇，喜欢踢足球，崇拜梅西。聊天时，当地教会为我们准备了热茶，我们以为是姜茶，但他们告诉我们这是香茅茶。他们甚至跑到厨房去，拿来茶叶给我们看。其实这两个男孩已经看过医生，但他们还是留下来，只是为了和我们聊天，分享他们的生活。

我们还探访了一位名叫Mateo的小男孩。他的家是泥巴屋，厨房和浴室是用木头和金属废料搭建起来的。在我们离开前，他跑到Angela面前，送给她一个鸡蛋——这是他表达感谢的方式。对我们来说，一颗鸡蛋或许微不足道，但对他们来说却是很宝贵的。那一刻，我们所有人都深受感动。

队里的医生告诉我们，几乎每个孩子都被诊断有寄生虫感染，都是因为他们的饮用水是被污染的，这让人非常心痛。这些孩子的生活非常贫困，大多数身体状况不好。然而，从孩子们的笑容、眼神和行为中，我们看到了谦卑、坚强和神的爱。很多时候，我们反而觉得，是这些孩子在帮助我们——提醒我们自己是多么蒙福的一群人。

在最后一间教会，我们把儿童圣经夏令营的课程搬到附近一所小学举办。这所学校从一年级到七年级，只有两个教室。洪都拉斯没有暑假，学校因为校舍和师资力量，只能提供孩子们半天上课。这个学校三年级和四年级的学生是上午上学，下午则是其他年级的学生。即使这样，很多孩子还是无法就学，因为他们买不起校服和书本。上高中就更加困难，因为费用更高。在洪都拉斯，大多数青少年都无法接受高中教育。

当地黑帮众多，他们常常瞄准贫困家庭，使用金钱引诱，之后再胁迫孩子们参与犯罪。在我们探访Ilama监狱时，亲眼看到了这种令人心碎的结果。那座监狱关押着四千多名重刑犯，大多数是年轻的帮派成员，他们出身的家庭就和我们所接触，探访的孩子们的家庭状况一样。

我们的宣教团队总共在四间教会服事了约500位儿童和成人，并与280名囚犯一同敬拜、分享见证。每天晚上，我们都会聚集在一起回顾白天的服事并祷告。这些时刻让我更加亲近神。我意识到，真正顺服神不能只是待在自己教会里敬拜——要走出去，去服事，去爱，去把希望带到最需要的地方。

我们或许无法立即改变洪都拉斯的现状，但我们此行是在那里撒下种子，我们的神会亲自使它成长，开花结果。在机场时，我们还遇到了其他的宣教团队，我们知道，神正在洪都拉斯动工，而我们能参与其中、成为祂的见证，是何等有幸何等蒙福。

请为洪都拉斯的家庭祷告，求神赐下干净的水和教育的机会；也为孩子们的安全保护和更好的生活条件代祷；最重要的是，祈求他们能认识耶稣基督，并感受到耶稣基督的爱，而有永生的盼望。

最后，我也想鼓励每一位弟兄姊妹，尤其是我们的青少年团契，去参加一次短宣。踏出你的舒适圈，在那需要的土地上撒下一颗种子。当我们出去祝福别人时，我们常常会带着比我们所想象的更多祝福归来。

When I first heard that my mom had signed me up for a mission trip to Honduras, I didn’t think much of it—I just agreed. But as the departure date got closer, I started to get more and more nervous. The internet called it the most dangerous place in the world outside of war zones. I read warnings about human trafficking, disease, and crime. My list of worries kept growing. Honestly, the only reason I was still planning to go was because I thought it might make for a good college essay.

But the moment I arrived… everything changed. I felt a calling. I knew deep down I had been chosen to do God’s work. I saw what true poverty looked like—cardboard shacks lining the streets, with rocks on the rooftops just to keep them from blowing away. It wasn’t luxurious—not even close. But what these people lacked in material things, they more than made up for in love and generosity. Despite having so little, they were always eager to give and share.

Each night, we’d gather over home-cooked meals and sip exotic juices I’d never tasted before. There was one little boy in particular, Mateo. I had helped him make a bracelet earlier that day. He took my hand and proudly showed me around his home—just a few sheds and a dirt floor. Then, out of nowhere, he said he had a gift for me. He ran into a small shed and came back holding… a single chicken egg. His mother saw and smiled, then came out with a dozen more, wrapping them up in a bag and handing them to me. They lived in mud homes with nearly nothing, yet they gave me some of the most valuable things they owned. That moment said everything about their hearts. Their gratitude, love, and joy—despite the hardship—taught me more than any classroom ever could.

Helping them filled my heart. For once, I felt like I was doing something that mattered. Something that truly changed lives. Many of the people we saw had never even been to a doctor. I was in charge of inscriptions, writing down names, ages, and symptoms. I’d jot down conditions like anemia, parasites—even suspected Ebola. Some older adults didn’t even know their age, and I had to calculate it with the little information they could remember.

There was one woman I’ll never forget. She spoke of deep depression and dark thoughts that had been haunting her. She thought something was physically wrong and wanted to see a doctor. I remember turning to the kind woman who was helping me—her name was Suyapa—and saying, “She doesn’t need a doctor… she needs Jesus.” Suyapa nodded. We took the woman’s hands and prayed together. It was one of the warmest moments I’ve ever felt. We were right where we were supposed to be—offering hope, not just medicine.

Throughout the trip, I bonded with the children, volunteers, and church groups on a deeper level than I ever thought possible. We were one body, serving Christ. And then came the visit to the maximum-security prison—where I truly felt the Holy Spirit move. These young men had been forced into gangs just to survive. They had nothing—not even freedom. And yet… they still had faith. Faith in God. Faith in redemption. When we walked in, they greeted us with applause. They were like curious children—so excited just to see new faces. There was no hate in their eyes—only hope.

So, would I go again? Absolutely. It was the most humbling and eye-opening experience of my life. I made amazing friends and mentors. I realized how privileged we are—just to have air conditioning, running water, or even shoes. Serving under God’s will and making a true impact on people who need it most was the most fulfilling thing I’ve ever done. I met the sweetest kids with the gentlest hearts. Even the most feared criminals held onto childlike wonder and a deep desire to know God. To be the one who got to share that hope with them—that was the real blessing.

I would encourage everyone to experience it for themselves—from young teens who don’t yet realize how lucky they are, to wise elders with stories and compassion to share. There’s a role for everyone and seeing each person step into that role… is something truly beautiful.

当我第一次听说妈妈替我报名去洪都拉斯参加短宣时，我并没有太放在心上，只是随口答应了。但随着出发日期的临近，我开始越来越紧张。网上说那里是世界上除战区之外最危险的地方。我看到关于人口贩卖、疾病和犯罪的警告，我的担忧清单越来越长。说实话，当时让我愿意去的唯一的理由可能就是想着这段经历可以写成一篇不错的大学申请作文。

但当我真正踏上那片土地的那一刻，一切都变了。我感到一种呼召，让我从心底知道，我是被神拣选来做工的。我亲眼看见了什么是贫困：街道两旁是用纸板搭建的棚屋，屋顶上压着石头，以防被风吹走。那里的生活完全谈不上舒适，甚至可以说非常艰苦。但这些人虽在物质上极度匮乏，却拥有超乎想象的爱与慷慨。尽管他们所拥有的寥寥无几，却总是乐于给予与分享。

每晚我们会围坐在一起，吃着当地同工亲手烹制的饭菜，喝着我从未尝过的异国果汁。那天有一个小男孩,叫Mateo, 我帮他做了一条手链。后来他拉着我的手，自豪地带着我参观他的“家“——不过是几个棚子和一片泥土地而已。然而，出乎意料是他突然说要送我一份礼物。他跑进一个小棚子，捧出一个鸡蛋。他的妈妈看到后微笑着走出来，又拿出了一打鸡蛋，用袋子包好送给我。他们住在泥土搭建的棚子里，几乎一无所有，但却把他们最珍贵的东西送给了我。那一刻，我深深地被他们的心感动。他们的感恩、爱与喜乐——尽管处在困苦中——却比任何老师教会我的还要多。

帮助他们让我内心充满喜乐。我第一次感觉自己正在做一件真正有意义的事，一件可以改变人的生命的事。我们遇到的很多人一生都没看过医生。我负责登记工作，记录下他们的名字、年龄和症状。他们的病症包括贫血、寄生虫，甚至疑似伊波拉。有些年长者连自己的年龄都不知道，我只能根据他们记得的一点点信息来推算。

有一位女性让我永远难忘。她讲述了自己深深的抑郁之痛和挥之不去的消极绝望想法。她以为自己身体出了问题，想看医生。我转向身边正在协助我的Suyapa，我说：“她不需要医生……她需要耶稣。” Suyapa点了点头。我们握着那位女士的手，一起为她祷告。那是我人生中感受到最温暖的时刻之一。 我们正是在该在的地方，不只是带去药物，而是带去希望。

在这次旅程中，我与孩子们、志愿者们以及短宣团队建立了超乎我想象的深厚的情谊。我们是基督里的一个肢体，一起服事主。我们探访了一座最高戒备的监狱，在那里我真正感受到了圣灵的运行。那些年轻的罪犯很多是为了生存，被迫加入帮派。他们一无所有，连自由都没有。然而，他们却依然拥有信心。对神的信心，对救赎的信心。当我们走进去时，他们鼓掌欢迎我们。他们就像充满好奇心的孩子，仅仅因为看到新面孔而兴奋不已。他们眼中没有仇恨，只有希望。

所以，我会再去吗？绝对会。这是我人生中最令我谦卑、最令我开阔眼界的经历。我结识了许多令人敬佩的朋友与导师。我意识到，我们是多么的有福——我们有空调、自来水，甚至还有鞋穿。我们按着神的旨意去服事，去真实地影响那些最需要帮助的人，是我人生中做过最有意义、最充实的事。我遇见了一群最纯真、最温柔的孩子。甚至那些最令人畏惧的罪犯，内心依然保留着孩童般的好奇与对认识神的渴望。能成为那个把希望带给他们的人——那才是真正的祝福。

Hello! My name is Samuel. Recently, I had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Honduras. I initially wanted to go because I thought it would be an interesting experience, and also, to be honest, because of some pressure from my parents.

Before the trip, I was nervous. I expected that many of the people there might be arrogant or unfriendly. I also had concerns about safety, as I had heard Honduras had high crime rates and was really hot. I packed a lot of medicine and supplies that, in the end, I didn’t even need.

Most days, we visited churches in poor rural areas. I, along with the other younger missionaries, spent time teaching the local children about following God, while the adults served in the pharmacy and clinic, offering medical care. As I did my work, I often interacted with the locals. Over time, I was surprised to see how different they were from what I expected. They were so much more welcoming, grateful, and respectful than I had imagined.

One especially memorable day, we visited a prison. I expected the inmates to be disrespectful or uninterested, but to my surprise, they seemed honored to have us there, and it was clear that many of them had been changed by God's love. I was amazed.

Throughout the entire trip, God protected our team. We all stayed safe, and God used this time to teach me a lot. He completely changed how I saw the people of Honduras, and he deepened my faith. I now try to be more grateful, more respectful, and more humble.

I strongly encourage anyone who has the chance to go on a mission trip like this to take that chance, it truly changes your perspective. Thank you to the church for making this opportunity possible, and thank you to everyone who supported us. This experience showed me just how powerful God's love truly is.

在出发前，我确实感到很紧张。我以为那边的很多人可能会很傲慢或者不友好。我也担心安全问题，因为听说洪都拉斯的犯罪率很高，而且天气又那么炎热。所以我带了很多的药品和生活用品，结果这些根本没用上。

我们大多数时间是在贫穷的山区里探访当地教会。我和其他短宣队的青少年一起，向当地的孩子们讲述上帝的故事和祂的爱，而短宣队的大人们则向当地的民众提供医疗服务。在整个过程中，我常和当地的大人和孩子们互动。随着时间的推移，我惊讶地发现，他们与我之前想象的完全不同。他们比我想像的更热情、更感恩、更有礼貌。

有一天特别让我难忘，那天我们去了一所监狱。我本以为囚犯们会不尊重我们，或者对我们毫不感兴趣，但出乎意料的是，他们似乎因我们的到来而感到荣幸，而且很明显，他们中的许多人已经被上帝的爱所改变。这使我感到非常震撼。

整个旅途中，上帝一直在保护着我们的团队。我们所有人都平安无事，而且上帝也借着这段经历教会了我很多宝贵的功课。他完全改变了我对洪都拉斯人民的看法，也加深了我的信仰。我现在努力让自己变得更加懂得感恩、更有尊重他人的心、也更加谦卑。

我强烈鼓励任何有机会参加这样宣教之旅的人，一定要抓住机会，它真的能改变你的眼界。感谢教会为我们提供了这个机会，也感谢每一位支持我们的人。这次经历让我真正体会到了上帝之爱的伟大力量。

Hi, my name is Aaron, and recently me and some other church members went on a mission trip to Honduras. This is my second time going, so I expected everything to be the same as last year. However, this time when I went, it felt like God was standing by our side the whole time. The protection of the Lord was present.

One time when I felt the Lord's protection and presence was when we were heading to the prison. The morning before we went to the prison, we prayed to the Lord that we, the youth, could enter the prison. The Lord heard our prayer and fulfilled it, for John 14:14 says, "If you ask Me for anything in My name, I will do it".

We felt God’s grace and love as we visited local churches around Honduras. Although they aren’t as fortunate as we are, they willingly listened to us as we preached the Gospel to them. At one of the churches we visited, the children were overjoyed to see us. Their faces lit up the moment we arrived, and they were so eager to spend time with us and play. It was a beautiful reminder of how God’s love shines through the joy and innocence of children. Being able to connect with them in such a simple yet meaningful way truly showed me the power of fellowship and the presence of the Holy Spirit in even the smallest moments.

Now, I would like to thank everyone who prayed for us while we were in Honduras and thank each and every one of you who helped make this opportunity possible.

我们在探访洪都拉斯当地教会时，也真切地感受到了神的恩典和爱。虽然他们的生活条件远不如我们，但他们却非常愿意聆听我们传讲的福音。一天我们去探访一间教会，孩子们一看到我们就特别高兴，脸上绽放出那么美的笑容，迫不及待地想和我们一起玩耍。那一刻让我深深感受到，神的爱正是通过孩子们的喜乐和纯真展现出来的。能够以这样简单却有意义的方式与他们接触，让我真正体会到了团契的影响力，即使相处短短的时间，圣灵依然与我们同在。

最后，我想感谢在洪都拉斯短宣旅程中为我们祷告的每一位朋友，也感谢帮助我们实现这次短宣之旅的每一位朋友。

Time flies, and our short-term mission trip to Honduras has come to an end. Yet it remains deeply unforgettable for me. During this trip, there were three things that touched me the most.

First: Serving in three different churches.
Each church stood amid a messy, rundown community, distinctly different from the surrounding homes. The church buildings were dignified, though not luxurious, and this contrast between the sacred and the ordinary stirred something in me. It made me reflect on how comfortable my own home is. Have I treated my church like my true spiritual home, caring for and treasuring it? Or have I viewed it as just a public place—somewhere for socializing and seeking help—while forgetting that the church is the temple of God, a place where we encounter Him and where souls are renewed? A church isn’t just built with bricks on the ground—it should be established in our hearts.

Second: Visiting the homes in poverty.
As I stood at the doorway of one house, I was overwhelmed with emotion and unable to calm my heart. I felt a piercing sorrow and compassion, and tears streamed down my face uncontrollably. In my heart, I cried out, “God, Abba Father, have mercy on this nation—be their refuge. Only Your divine love can melt and save their hearts. There is no salvation apart from You!”

Third: Visiting two prisons.
Before we went, I had mixed feelings—some fear, imagining frightening scenes. But when I came face to face with them, they weren’t scary at all. They smiled, warmly and gently shook our hands, and kept saying, “Jesus loves you.” At that moment, I was overwhelmed with emotion and deeply moved, even ashamed. Though they had committed crimes and lost their freedom, I realized I’m not much different from them—my sins are just hidden. I had been too quick to judge based on “labels,” forgetting that behind each label is a real person with a story unknown to the world. This visit reminded me not to rush to judgment, but to draw near, to listen. Every person is uniquely created by God, precious in His eyes. Who am I to judge? Am I not a sinner through and through as well?

Everything that happens in life—whether hardship or blessing—flows from God’s love. His intentions are never to harm, but always to build up and bless. God works in His own time and way, often beyond our understanding. All we can do is wait patiently, pray, and trust in His love. And if we are truly resting in His love, what is there to fear?

I thank the Lord for using this mission trip to remind me that I am a new creation—the old has gone, the new has come. In this new life, I want to continually live out a new set of values, a new perspective on life and the world, and to be a witness for Christ. May all glory be given to God.

A special thanks to the dedicated coworkers from Living Hope and the brothers and sisters in the local churches of Honduras who served behind the scenes. May the Lord remember their labor and reward them richly!

第一点：到三个不同的教会服事。每个教会都矗立在杂乱破旧的社区中，与旁边的房子完全不一样，教堂建筑庄严但并不奢华，与附近居民的房子产生出神圣和凡俗的对比。这不禁让我反思我现在所住的房子是多么的舒适，是否把自己的教会当作自己的家一样来维护，还是只把教会当作是公共场所，只是用来建立人际关系和寻找帮助的地方，而忽略了教堂是神的殿，是人与上帝相遇、灵魂被更新的地方，这建筑不只是建立在地上，更是建立在人的心里。

第二点：探访贫困孩子的家庭。当我站在他们的房子门口，思绪万千，五味杂陈，心情久久不能平静。怜悯悲伤、心里像被针扎了一样，情不自禁的眼泪一直流下来，我心里呼喊：“神啊、阿爸父，求你怜悯、帮助这个国家，你是他们的避难所，也只有你神圣的爱能融化、拯救他们的内心，除你以外，别无拯救！”

第三点：到两间监狱探望囚犯。在出发前，我的心情非常复杂，想象了一些可怕的画面，说实话有点紧张，也有点害怕。可当我面对面见到他们时，发现他们并没有我想像中的那么可怕，他们微笑着，平静而友善地主动跟我们握手、嘴里不断说＂耶稣爱你＂。那一刻我心情也是五味杂陈，非常感动，惭愧不已。虽然他们都犯了显而易见的罪，失去了人身自由，其实想想我自己比他们也好不了多少，只不过是我所犯的罪比较隐蔽而已。我太容易被＂标签＂操控了眼睛，却忘了每个＂标签＂后面都有一个真实的人，背后有个不为人知的故事，这次的探望让我反思不要急着判断别人，而是要愿意靠近和倾听。神创造每个人都是独一无二的，在神眼里都是宝贝，我有什么权利和资格来论断？何况我不也是彻头彻尾的罪人吗？凡事临到我的，它的美意不可测，不管是逆境或顺境都是因着神的爱，从最深处里面出来的，神对我从来不是降灾难的意念，却是为了造就我，成为我的祝福。神做事有他的时间和方式，我们不能识透，我们只能静心等候、祷告神，知道在神的爱中有什么要惧怕的呢？

感谢主借着短宣之行，让我知道自己是新造的人，旧事已过都变成新的了，在新的生命里不断活出新的价值观、人生观和世界观为主作见证，把一切荣耀都归于神。

This year, my son was spiritually ambitious and eagerly signed up for a one-week mission trip to Honduras (Click to read Jerry's testimony). I had some concerns about the safety there, but I was also filled with anticipation—surely, this would be a very special journey. Flying to Honduras was full of complications, but we finally made it.

During this mission trip, we visited three churches, three local families, and two prisons—it was a packed schedule. At the churches, we shared the gospel with nearby residents, mostly children. There were puppet shows, craft activities, and at the end, free medical consultations and distribution of medicine.  We served 100–120 residents each day. Many of them had never seen a doctor before, because they couldn’t afford it and had no transportation. Our medical consultation was a great help to them. Though the three days of ministry were physically exhausting, I was filled with joy to be able to offer a small contribution to these children in such material need. Even though we couldn’t communicate verbally, the sincere smiles from the parents and children expressed their heartfelt gratitude.

The prison ministry was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Upon entering the prison, we were immediately surrounded by many inmates. At first, honestly, I was afraid we might be taken hostage. The low-security prison was loosely managed, and the prisoners gathered outdoors to listen to the pastor’s sermon. There was an inmate-led Christian fellowship and worship team. Most of them were very young, just in their early twenties. They were polite and full of enthusiasm as they clapped and praised Jesus, cheering for each person who gave a testimony. I thank God for giving me the courage to share my own testimony of coming to faith. In the end, the pastor gave an altar call, and over 90 inmates made decisions to follow Christ. It’s true—people are more likely to trust God in their lowest moments. Outside those prison walls, it’s hard to lead people to Christ; inside, one call and the response is overwhelming. After the sermon, we distributed bread, drinks, toothpaste, and toilet paper to the inmates. They lined up in an orderly fashion—no pushing, no one taking more than their share. Many expressed gratitude as they received the items, their smiles bright and sincere. I was deeply moved. God created us in His image—everyone has a good side.

The high-security prison was under much tighter control. We were searched multiple times and waited nearly two hours to enter. While we were waiting, three newly transferred inmates walked by—covered in tattoos from head to toe, with cold, intimidating stares. I was chilled. But as they passed us, they all said, “God bless you!” I was touched. Suddenly, they didn’t seem so scary after all.

Eventually, we entered the prison cell area, which reeked of sweat and urine, just like the cells in American prison dramas. I think even spending one day there would emotionally break me. Among the prisoners was a fellowship leader who preached with incredible power and passion. The other inmates responded to him with enthusiasm. He was born to preach—if he is released one day, he could become an amazing pastor. He expressed thanks on behalf of the inmates for the love we brought and prayed that God would bless us double in return. His words brought tears to my eyes. We came to share love, and in the end, love returned to us in double. It is more blessed to give than to receive—I truly experienced that.

This trip to Honduras was deeply impactful for me. I am thankful for everything I have, and I’ve learned to complain less and extend more grace.

今年儿子很有追求，积极报名了去洪都拉斯一周的短宣 （点击阅读Jerry 的见证）。我对那里的安全问题颇有顾虑，但又有所期待：这会是一次特别的旅行吧。去程几番周折，最后我们终于登机成功。

这次短宣我们去了三个教会，探访了三个当地家庭，以及两个监狱，可谓是行程满满。在教会的活动是传福音给附近居民（主要是孩子），有puppet show，手工活动，最后是为居民们诊疗并发放药品。我们每天要接待100-120个居民，这些居民几乎从未看过病，因为他们没钱又没交通工具，我们短宣队的诊疗大大地帮助了他们。三天的活动虽累，但能为这些物资匮乏的孩子们尽我一点绵薄之力，我心里充满了喜乐。虽然无法语言交流，但家长和孩子们真诚的笑容让我感受到了她们满满的感谢之情。

监狱事工真的是人生难得的体验。一进监狱，我们被好多囚犯团团围住，刚开始我真的有被劫持当人质的担心。轻刑犯监狱管理要松很多，囚犯们聚在室外听牧师讲道。监狱内有囚犯自己的基督教团契和敬拜团队。他们大都很年轻，二十出头，很有礼貌，非常热情地鼓掌赞颂耶稣，给予每个上台作见证的人热烈的掌声。感谢主给我勇气，我也作了我的信主见证。牧师最后呼召，竟然有超过90位囚犯决志。人真的是在绝境中更信靠神。墙外的人信主何其之难，墙内的人一呼百应。讲道后，我们为囚犯分发带来的面包，饮料，牙膏和卫生纸。他们很有秩序，排队领取，也没有人多领。领取时很多人都表示感谢，笑得很阳光。我很感动，神按祂的形象造人，人人都有良善的一面。

重刑犯监狱戒备非常森严，我们被搜身数次，等待进入监狱的时间将近两小时。在等待的
过程中，有三个刚被送进监狱的重刑囚犯，满头满脸都是刺青，眼神冰冷，让我不寒而栗。
但在经过我们身边时，他们竟都说“God bless you!” 这让我非常触动，也觉得他们没有那么可怕了。最后终于进入牢房，里面有一股刺鼻的汗臭加尿骚味，看着和美剧“越狱”的囚室很像。这里让我住一天，我估计就会情绪奔溃。囚犯里有个团契领袖，讲道非常有力量，有激情，囚犯们都积极地响应他。这就是天生的布道家吧，他出狱后可以做个非常好的牧师。他代表囚犯们感谢我们传递的爱，求主双倍地赐福我们。这真的让我泪目了。我们传递爱，爱最后又双倍地返还给我们。施比受更为有福，我真地体会到了。

这次洪都拉斯之行，给我很大的震撼。感恩我现在拥有的一切，少一些抱怨，多一些包容。感谢主！

My name is Jerry Shao. I am a rising senior in high school who participated in the 2025 Honduras Mission Trip.

I was born and raised in Shanghai, China. I moved to the United States at the age of 9. Before coming to the United States, I never had the chance for any interactions with Christianity. It was only after I came to the United States that I started learning about God. Growing up in a non-Christian household, it is rather difficult to believe. The church I attend has helped me deepen my faith in God slowly but surely. I have thought about getting baptized for half a year now, but I was looking for a boost to push me over that line. And that is one reason why I joined the 2025 Honduras Mission Trip.

Another big reason I chose to go on this mission trip is that I lack time for myself. After high school started, I felt like I was getting less and less time to spend with myself and with God. Everything I did was put on my college resume. Not only do I have to work hard during the school year, but my summer schedule is also packed. Internships, community service, volunteering... It felt like preparing for college was stripping away my life. It didn’t feel right. This year, same deal, I packed my summer schedule to the brim, except that I left out a week or two. I knew that leaving out a week or two for myself and for God would ease my burden. So, that’s why I joined the 2025 Honduras Mission Trip.

Before going on the trip, other than the puppet show, I thought we would hear sermons every day and read the Bible. But I don’t think my expectation could be more wrong, because this is probably the most fun I've had on a trip. Preaching Evangelism to the Honduras kids was surprisingly really fun. As teenagers, we never ran out of topics to talk about. We also made many new Honduran friends and added each other on social media. Since the Wi-Fi in Honduras was really poor, I mostly stayed off my phone. But I think this is part of what made this trip so special. The fun we had off-screen was something I rarely experienced in the United States. Seeing the kids in Honduras that we worked with laughing and smiling, I felt a warm feeling inside.

But reality soon kicked back in as we visited their homes. One of the families was about to be evicted because they were unable to pay their rent. And knowing that even though those kids lived in such poverty, they were still able to smile with such purity, I was embarrassed by myself. I was embarrassed by those times when I complained about how my room was too hot, and those times when I complained about how I couldn’t eat my favorite snack. How on earth is there any reason for me to complain about that stuff when some of those families couldn’t even have a roof over their heads? And that’s probably the biggest lesson I took away from this trip: to be grateful for what you have, because many others do not.

During the mission trip, we also visited prisons, and it was completely different from what I expected. I have never gone to a prison before, so I was terrified at the start, but after we went in, they all smiled and were grateful for us to be there. During worship, they were all singing with such passion. During the testimonies, they listened to us with such respect.  All of them seemed way more passionate about Jesus than my own church members. And when we handed them stuff, almost all of them said: “Dios te bendiga”, or “Gracias” at the end. It was a very touching experience, as I would have never imagined the prisoners acting like this.

Ultimately, I wanted to express my gratitude to the teams from my Honduras Mission Trip. Every one of them was so courageous and so much fun to be around, especially the youth. We all had a wonderful time together playing cards, laughing at dumb jokes, and singing in the back of the car. I also believe I grew closer to God during this trip. It was an experience I will remember for a lifetime. Thank you for listening to my testimony.

我出生并成长于中国上海，9岁时移居美国。在来美国之前，我从未有机会接触基督教，直到我来到美国后，我才开始认识神。因为我成长于一个非基督徒家庭，所以信仰的建立并不容易。然而，我所在的教会一直在慢慢地、持续地帮助我加深对神的信仰。半年前我就在考虑受洗了，我一直在寻找一个能推动我跨出这一步的契机，而这正是我参加这次宣教之旅的原因之一。-

我选择参加这次宣教之旅的另一个重要原因是，我缺少属于自己的时间。上了高中之后，我感觉自己越来越没有时间独处，也没有时间与神相处。我所做的一切几乎都成了大学申请简历上的一项内容。不仅在学年期间要努力学习，我的暑假也被安排得满满当当——实习、社区服务、志愿活动……为了准备大学，我牺牲了自己的生活。这种状态让我感到不对劲。今年也是一样，我的暑期日程依然排得很满，但我特意留出了一，两周的空档。我知道，为自己和为神留出这段时间，能够去反思，去亲近神。这就是我为什么决定参加这次宣教之旅。

在出发前，我原本以为在那里除了木偶剧表演之外，每天都会听讲道和读圣经。但事实完全出乎我的意料，这次旅程可能是我参加过最有趣的一次。向洪都拉斯的孩子们传福音出奇地有趣。作为青少年，我们总有聊不完的话题。我们还交了许多洪都拉斯的新朋友，并在社交媒体上互加了好友。由于洪都拉斯的Wi-Fi信号非常差，我几乎没有碰手机。但我觉得这也是让这次旅程变得如此特别的一部分。我们“离屏”的快乐是我在美国很少能体验到的。看到那些孩子们开心地笑着，我内心感到无比温暖。

然而，当我们去探访他们的家时，现实迅速回到眼前。有个家庭因为交不起房租，马上就要被驱逐了。可即便这些孩子生活在如此贫困的环境中，他们仍能露出那样纯真的笑容，这让我感到羞愧。我为自己曾抱怨房间太热、吃不到喜欢的零食会不高兴而感到羞愧。在有些家庭连屋顶都没有的情况下，我又有什么资格抱怨这些微不足道的事呢？而这大概就是这次旅程带给我最大的启示：要对自己所拥有的心怀感恩，因为许多人并没有那么幸运。

在宣教过程中，我们还去了监狱，那完全颠覆了我的想象。我以前从未去过监狱，一开始感到非常害怕，但当我们走进去时，他们却都面带微笑，真诚地感谢我们的到来。在敬拜时，他们唱得非常投入；在听我们分享见证时，他们表现出极大的尊重。他们中许多人对耶稣的热情远超过我教会中的弟兄姊妹。而当我们向他们发放物品时，几乎每个人都会说一句“Dios te bendiga”（愿神祝福你）或者“Gracias”（谢谢）。这是一次极具感染力的经历，因为我从未想象过囚犯竟会如此温和与真诚。

最后，我想向这次洪都拉斯宣教之旅的团队表达我的感激之情。每一位队员都非常勇敢、非常有趣，尤其是青年们。我们一起打牌、讲幼稚笑话、在车后座唱歌，度过了美好的时光。我也相信自己在这次旅程中更接近了神。这会是我一生都难以忘怀的经历。谢谢你们聆听我的见证。

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” - Acts 1:8

Before Jesus ascended, He promised that the world would see His redemptive power through His followers. Today, in 2025, we are witnessing the fulfillment of that promise. Living Hope continues to pursue its vision—to become a bridge connecting churches in different countries, enabling them to share resources, experiences, and wisdom. In every situation we encounter, we see God personally leading His people and expanding His kingdom.

The first half of 2025 has been marked by both challenges and moments of grace. Through hardship and opportunity, God is refining our faith and broadening our vision. Conflict and persecution remain major challenges faced by the global Church. According to Open Doors’ 2025 World Watch List, over 380 million Christians—one in every seven—suffer from severe persecution and discrimination. Regionally, one in five believers in Africa and as many as two in five in Asia face persecution for their faith. For us, these numbers became especially real over the past year: we walked alongside our partners in Asia through difficult times. We continued to witness the unwavering faith of our friends in Ukraine under the shadow of war. Their faith has not been destroyed; rather, it has been refined like gold in the fire. With renewed determination, they bless the vulnerable and the afflicted.

Their example also deeply challenges and inspires those of us who live in relative comfort in North America: Where is the battle line for God’s kingdom? And in which community can we shine the light of Jesus’ hope?

Meanwhile, the opportunities ahead are just as exciting. In Honduras, our reach has extended into new regions, and the mission team that traveled in May has already borne fruit. In just eight days, the team visited four local churches and, together with them, served about 400 children, offering medical care, haircuts, snacks, singing, games, and Vacation Bible School. They also shared the gospel with 900 inmates in a local prison, and nearly 90 made decisions to receive salvation. This summer, five more short-term mission teams are preparing to depart, continuing to ignite the flame of missions and bless even more families.

We are filled with gratitude as we witness God at work in every situation, and our hearts rejoice to share His marvelous works with you. In this newsletter, we invite you to look back on the footprints of grace from the past six months:

在耶稣升天前，祂应许世人将藉着祂的跟随者看到祂救赎的大能。如今，在2025年，我们正在见证这个应许的实现。新希望正不断朝着它的异象前行——成为一座桥梁，连接各地的教会，使他们能够共享资源、经验与智慧。在我们所经历的每一处境中，我们都看见神亲自带领祂的子民，扩张祂的国度。

2025年上半年充满了挑战与恩典。神藉着困境与机遇，操练我们的信心，拓展我们的眼界。冲突与逼迫依旧是全球教会所面临的重大挑战。根据“敞开的门”发布的2025年《世界守望名单》，全球有超过3.8亿基督徒（每七人中就有一人）正遭受严重的迫害与歧视。若按地区划分，非洲每五位信徒中就有一人，亚洲更高达每五位中有两人因信仰受到逼迫。对我们而言，这些数字在过去一年里变得格外真实：我们陪伴亚洲的伙伴经历艰难岁月，也持续关注乌克兰朋友在战争阴影下的信仰坚守。他们的信仰并未被摧毁，反而在烈火中炼成精金，带着更坚定的心志去祝福弱势群体与困苦者。他们的榜样也深深激励着我们这些在北美相对安逸的人：为神国争战的界线在哪里？我们又能在哪个社区点亮耶稣的盼望之光？

与此同时，前方的机会也令人振奋。在洪都拉斯，我们的影响力拓展到了新地区，五月出访的宣教团队已经结出果实。在短短八天内，团队探访了当地的四间教会，并与他们一起服事了约400名孩童，提供医疗、理发、点心、唱歌、游戏和暑期圣经学校。他们也向当地监狱的900位狱友传讲福音，其中有近90位决志，接受救恩。今年夏天我们还有五支短宣队即将启程，继续点燃宣教之火，祝福更多家庭。

我们满怀感恩，因看见神在不同处境中亲自动工；也满心喜乐，能够与您一同见证祂奇妙的作为。本期通讯，我们邀您一同回顾这六个月的恩典脚踪：

At Mbooni, there are now 107 children who have just started into their second school term of 2025.  At the beginning of April, Mbooni and Kenya’s Kids welcomed a new Manager, Reverend Joshua Kioko, and his wife, Bernadette.

Reverend Joshua Kioko grew up at Mbooni Children’s Home when he was three years old and remained there while completing his schooling.  After leaving Mbooni, he completed two Theology degrees from Scott Theological College, a Business degree from the Kenya Institute of Management, and a master’s degree in Mission Studies from Africa International University.  Joshua is a Pastor in the Africa Inland Church (AIC).  He has planted a church in Nairobi and has also served as the pastor of a thriving church in the city.  God’s calling on his life has led him to come to us to serve the Children of Mbooni.

Bernadette, his wife, works for Makueni County as a Nutrition Specialist.  She is working with Joshua to revamp the nutritional program at Mbooni, ensuring a balanced diet and the inclusion of more protein in the meal rotation for the children.  Our plan is that her skills will also be utilized at Kathonzweni Children’s Home as we proceed forward.

We recently installed a clothing washing and drying facility to support the children and staff and take away some of the burden of supporting over 100 children.  In the coming months, we plan to install solar power across the facility, as the current electrical power infrastructure is inconsistent and getting very expensive. Sponsor support will be crucial for this transition.

Elijah and his wife, Josephine, continue to thrive at Kathonzweni Children’s Home as the Manager and Matron. When Kenya’s Kids first began to partner with Kathonzweni, there were only 16 children.  As of today, and because of your support, there are 58 children, with a plan to grow to 75 children by year’s end.

A particular area of focus is on the educational development of children.  They regularly encourage the children in their studies, track their progress, and provide tutoring.  The results of their influence over the past year are very encouraging.  In addition, the sister of one of the children, Janet, will be spending the next four months as a live-in tutor.  Janet is a university student studying English and Education, and will be focusing on improving the language skills of the children.  

We continue to work on the facilities to provide a better living environment for the children and staff.  In the coming weeks we will be doing significant repairs to the manager’s house, repairing a leaking water storage tank, digging the well to a deeper level to provide more water and seeking bids to upgrade the dining hall building, as well as create a guest house that can be used by visitors, work teams, and our sponsoring organizations, such as Living Hope.

We thank God for your continued support and sponsorship of this ministry as we continue to seek to provide Hope and a Future for the orphaned and disadvantaged children of Kenya.

Dear Friends, Sponsors, and Partners of Living Hope Global Ministries,

Since 2019, our church (Ukraine Lviv Central Baptist Church) has been serving women and children who have lost a husband or a father in the war. This service grew out of pain, but it is full of God's hope, light, and love. Thanks to the support of our partnership team from the United States, including financial contributions, we were able to significantly expand the boundaries of our activity.

Since the full-scale invasion, our ministry has changed and has been transformed into a new format of meetings. We have adapted to the needs of women and children of fallen soldiers, whose numbers have increased. We serve these women, who have become our sisters during this time. Through smaller yet more meaningful meetings, we focus on deeper personal communication, emotional healing, and spiritual recovery.

One of the greatest blessings is that thanks to your prayers and financial support, many women are able to come to our meetings regularly. In this stable, safe space, their lives gradually change. They receive not only spiritual, psychological, and financial assistance, but they also find new meaning, hope, and strength to live on. And with them, the lives of their children who have lost their fathers in the war are changing. Although it is difficult to take away the pain through words, we help these families learn to live in new circumstances without losing faith, dignity, and humanity.

Our team today consists of 10 women of all ages, in different social backgrounds and different life situations, but we are united by one desire: to serve these families with love and hope, directing their hearts to God. We strive for every woman and child who has lost their loved ones to find consolation and power in God's Word and get to know Jesus personally. Each sister in the team has her own special gifts and talents that she embodies in service. We organize art evenings, during which women create beauty with their own hands - for example, pots for flowers, flower arrangements, bookmarks, paintings, and clay products.

We invited an instructor who conducted basic first aid training, organized excursions, and other creative events. All these ideas are born in the hearts of our team's sisters and have become a source of joy and light for widows and their children.

We have also developed and begun new areas of support, and now we have begun to invite professional Christian psychologists and speakers to our meetings. They reveal important crisis topics that are especially relevant for widows and their children: how to live with loss, how to communicate with those who are experiencing deep pain, and how to find new meaning in life in circumstances that have changed forever. It is an extremely valuable resource for women who need not only spiritual but also emotional support, and it helps them move forward with healing and hope.

Every time a meeting for the women of fallen soldiers is taking place, at the same time, their children also have the opportunity to spend time at the Skyland Children's Club. This is a special place where children get acquainted with other kids, find new friends, play sports, participate in interactive games, and enjoy flavorful snacks. In a casual game format, they learn about Jesus and also have English classes. We believe that this environment helps children feel care, joy, and the safety that they so lack after their father's loss.

We are grateful for your prayers and continuous financial support, through which we can prepare product kits, give certificates for food and essential products for children, and help families with daily needs. For several families who are not able to get to church, we provide delivery of products to their homes, and for women living in distant areas, we provide transportation for them to come to our meetings. All these are specific manifestations of God's love, which women and their children feel through your sacrifice.

Over the last 2.5 years, we have held more than 50 meetings, each of which has gathered about 30 women. These are special events, where we pray together, reflect on God’s word, share our experiences, sing songs of hope, and testify to God's faithfulness. Here, women who have previously been unfamiliar become supported by each other, forming strong connections in Christ. Three small groups have grown out of the large gatherings, which now gather 5-7 women in homes every week and have become true centers of spiritual consolation. In addition, we were able to organize five retreats, where widows could relax with children, find emotional release and recovery, and most importantly, hear the good news of Jesus Christ.

This path brings real fruits. Bogdanna G. repented of her sins and accepted Christ as her Savior. Julia P. gave her heart to the Lord and accepted water baptism. Another sister, Liudmyla T., testified that she gave her life to Jesus. Several women regularly read the Gospel, write their reflections, and ask questions about the passages of the Word of God; they testify to the changes in their lives and their desire to follow Christ.
 
Our ministry is more than meetings. It is a space where wounded hearts find healing, where widows witness hope, and where the Gospel resounds not only in words but also in love. Often, these women bring their girlfriends, moms, and sisters – and the Gospel touches even a wider circle of hearts.

自2019年以来，我们教会（乌克兰利沃夫中央浸信会）一直在服事阵亡烈士遗孀和儿童。这个事工源自苦难，却满载着神的盼望、光明与爱。感谢来自美国的新希望团队的大力支持，我们的服事范围得以大幅扩展。

自战争全面爆发以来，我们的事工发生了变化 ，并转换成了一种新的聚会形式。我们服事的遗孀和儿童日益增多。通过更小型、更有深度的聚会，我们专注于深入的沟通、情感的疗愈，以及属灵的恢复。我们服事这的这些妇女，在这段时间里已成为我们的姊妹。

最蒙福的一件事是，藉着你们的祷告与支持，许多妇女如今可以定期参加我们的聚会。在这个稳定、安全的空间里，她们不仅获得了属灵、心理和经济方面的帮助，也重新找回了生命的意义、盼望与前行的力量。与此同时，那些在战争中失去父亲的孩子们也在逐渐经历生命的转变。尽管用言语很难带走他们心灵上的痛苦，但我们仍然帮助这些家庭在苦难中不失去信仰，依然保持内在的光、善和尊严。

我们邀请了一位讲师来进行基础急救培训，并组织了郊游和其他具有创造性的活动。所有这些点子都源自我们团队姊妹们的关怀和创意，给遗孀和她们孩子们带来了喜乐与希望。

我们还开拓并开始了新的支持领域，现在我们邀请专业的基督徒心理学家与讲员参与我们的聚会，特别针对遗孀和其孩子，讲解面对危机的重要主题：如何带着失落继续生活、如何与深陷痛苦的人沟通、以及如何在动荡中寻找人生新的意义。这是对那些不仅需要属灵支持，也需要情感支持的妇女来说极其宝贵的资源，帮助她们在心灵的医治与盼望中继续前行。

当阵亡烈士遗孀聚会举行时，她们的孩子则参加“天空乐园儿童俱乐部”。这是一个特别的地方，孩子们可以在这里结识新的朋友，参加体育活动和互动游戏、还享用美味的点心。在轻松的游戏氛围中，他们学习认识了耶稣，还上英文课。我们相信，这样的环境能让孩子们感受到关爱、喜乐与安全感——这些都是他们在失去父亲后极其缺乏的。

我们感谢你们的祷告和持续的经济支持，使我们能够准备物资包，发放儿童食品和生活必需品的购物券，并帮助家庭得到日常所需。对于一些无法前往教会的家庭，我们会将物资送到她们家中；对于住在偏远地区的家庭，我们则提供交通接送，使她们能够参加我们的聚会。所有这一切，都是神的爱具体的彰显，因着你们的奉献，这些妇女和她们的孩子真实地感受到了这份爱。

这条路结出了真实的果实。Bogdanna 已悔改并接受基督为救主；Julia 将自己的心献给主并接受了水礼；另一位姊妹 Liudmyla 也见证自己并将生命交托给耶稣。还有几位姐妹定期阅读福音书，写下她们的默想，并就神的话语提出问题；她们见证了自己生命中的改变，也表达了愿意跟随基督的渴望。

我们的事工不只是聚会，它是一个使受伤的心灵得着医治的空间，是遗孀看见盼望的所在，是福音不仅借着言语，更借着爱传扬的地方。许多时候，她们还会带来她们的朋友、母亲或姊妹——而福音也因此触及了更广的心灵。

There are two types of sports, athletics and sports.  But my favorite sport is netball.  Netball is the best ball game I have ever played.  I love netball because it helps me to know a lot of skills of ball games and also helps my bones to be strong.  I love netball very much.
I wish to go to a university when the time arrives.  I want to go to university so that I can fulfill my dreams.
I will help others to know more about studies.  And I will also help others to know more about the Bible and God.
I have tried new things like grade six learning areas and academics.  I have also tried grade six studies and helping other children to know about Jesus Christ.

We opened our schools on date 6th January 2025.  I have joined grade nine.  I am putting effort in my studies.  We have all reported to school for new year academic program.  I ask you to support me in prayers.
I like playing netball.  I like playing netball because there is a lot of jumping, and jumping makes me healthy. It makes my body strong and prevents me from lifestyle diseases like obesity.
I wish I could be a dentist because it is not easy work.  It needs concentration so that you may take care of all teeth.  It is my prayers to obtain this goal.
I love God and I go to worship him.  I am also encouraging others to love God and going to worship him.
The new thing I have tried is to make guitars that can be played to make a song.  I am learning how to play guitar in the church.
I would like to share a memory verse, it says, Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the holy one is understand.
