Honduras Mission Trip Testimonies |

I have spent the past 15+ years traveling to Honduras and leading Mission Trips through the Nazarene Church. It has become a second home to me. This past trip was an incredible experience as I got to help lead 21 people to minister to the people of Honduras.

As a Pastor, I know that this can be a transformational experience for people if they will just lean in. This trip proved to be just that. The stories that have emerged from our team’s experiences partnering with both Living Hope and the Church of the Nazarene have been incredible. Witnessing some of our people share their testimonies in the prison and come alongside those in need in the communities surrounding the Tegucigalpa area was a total gift. And to get to do that alongside incredible Honduran leaders and pastors…that is priceless.

Honduras continues to be the gift that keeps giving. I am so grateful to Jesus for his power that was so evident on this trip.  He gets all the glory!

For me, being on this trip meant that I got the closure that God was calling me to do, and that was being a missionary and doing God's work. I have yet to know where God will set me in his work. It might be Honduras or it might not, but either way, I’m excited for it!

First of all, being able to go on my first missions trip with partnered leadership from Living Hope (the organization I was adopted through) and Immanuel Church (where I’ve seen God grow me so much the past few years) has made this trip kind of a full-circle moment for me. I knew I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to serve alongside Samuel, who God used to give me a second chance at life, and Andrea, who God has used and is still using to grow and challenge my faith.

For me, saying yes to serving has always been easy, but this trip has helped me gain a greater sense of humility when it comes to serving; learning to lay down my agenda or how I think things would best be done to make way for what is truly best and being flexible and willing to do whatever is needed at the time. I loved getting to see our team work with the Honduran team, and that we each had our unique talents and gifts that we were able to use throughout the week to serve God, and that we were able to do so despite our cultural differences and the language barrier.

This trip has given me a greater sense of community and created long-lasting friendships among such an amazing team, and I loved that so many of us were experiencing our first international missions trip together.

This trip to Honduras was so touching. Serving at the medical tables doing BMI checks gave me a front-row seat to the joy and gratitude in the children’s smiles — even the smallest interactions felt deeply meaningful. It was powerful to witness how much we could accomplish together, from finishing church roofs to providing medicine, and most importantly, sharing the love of Jesus with both children and their families. One of the most touching moments was visiting the prison — though I was initially nervous, I felt the peace of God fill the courtyard as the inmates worshiped with such freedom and passion. This trip reminded me how much we take for granted, and how planting even one seed can ripple out to change lives. I’m so thankful to have been part of this mission — and I know this won’t be the last.

I’m only 14, but going on this trip has been a life-changing experience. I never thought God would move as much as he did, and I hope he doesn’t stop.

I felt scared coming into the trip being so young, but I was surrounded by an amazing team who helped me realize I’m not alone. The impact we made each day was so amazing to see, and it just makes us realize how much we take for granted back in the US. I am so grateful that I got to go on this trip with an amazing group and hope to come back in future years.

The mission trip we took to Honduras was inspiring and meaningful. Opening myself up
to God’s voice by being His hands and feet helps me to draw closer to Him and fills my heart with joy. Sharing the love of God with his people wherever they are in the world is what He calls us to do, and I am glad that I was able to bless people with my hands by repairing the church roof.

Mercy
