OUR CHURCH PARTNERS AND MISSION TEAMS ARE AN OASIS FOR A BROKEN WORLD.
The needs are endless and we welcome you to come and serve as the hands and feet of Jesus. We serve in all areas of outreach - evangelism, medical, village outreach, vacation bible school, construction, single mother and child outreach, youth/sports, sustainable community programs and many other opportunities await for your church team to exemplify the love of Christ.
WHAT WILL WE DO?
Every trip is unique, and we serve the projects we have at the time your team would like to travel. Your team may work with orphan and needy children, rebuild a home for a struggling single mother, help provide a village with clean water, vbs, construction team, work with an in country doctor and hold a medical clinic, the opportunities to serve are endless.
IS THERE A MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM NUMBER OF TRAVELERS AND WILL WE NEED A TEAM LEADER?
Yes. We ask that your church have a minimum of 10 travelers (due to our in country logistics and expenses). The maximum number would depend on the country and project you choose, and the number of travelers we are able to take care of in that location. Please choose one or two team leaders for your group. We will work one on one with your team leader, and they will share all of the information and work with your group. We will be available to support your team from the planning stage to returning home.
DO WE FUNDRAISE FOR OUR TRIP PROJECT?
This would depend on the trip you choose. Some of our projects require funds to operate and bring aid. For example, if your church would like to do a medical outreach, you would fundraise to pay for the in country medications, pay the in country doctor and bring over the counter meds and eyeglasses with you from the U.S. A construction team repairing a home would fund the building materials. Your organization would decide on the impact you would like to have for your service and any funding you would like to do.
IS THERE A DRESS CODE?
Yes. When traveling to certain areas, we have dress codes for cultural reasons, for safety, and for modesty. We ask that our travelers not wear fancy clothes or flashy or expensive jewelry. Please bring plain suitcases, marked with a recognizable ribbon or tape for easy spotting at the airport. In warm climates, we ask our ladies to wear capri pants or long pants (no shorts) and modest t-shirts with short sleeves (no tank tops). Please bring a below the knee dress or skirt for church services. For our gentleman, we ask that you wear long pants (no shorts) and t-shirts with short sleeves (no tank tops). This is appropriate dress for church services.
ARE WE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY TRAINING?
Yes, we will work with your team on cultural and trip training to make sure everyone is well prepared before traveling.
DO YOU PROVIDE INDIVIDUAL FUNDRAISING PROGRAMS?
No, fundraising will be managed by your church.
WILL I NEED SHOTS TO TRAVEL?
Please check with your local health department on the recommendation for travel to the area your organization chooses.
WHO ARRANGES INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL?
Since we have many travelers who like to use their earned miles, and want to look for the best flight deals in your area, your group will purchase their own airline tickets. LHGM purchases all of your in country travel. All team members will need a U.S. Passport to travel internationally (with 6 months validity at the time of travel), and some countries will require a Visa. We will aid your team with all travel information and preparations.
WHAT IS YOUR PAYMENT SCHEDULE AND WHAT IS INCLUDED IN MY TRIP COST?
At least 8 months from your desired travel date, please contact us and we will work with you to schedule your trip. We request a deposit (half of the total cost) be paid 6 months before travel and the final balance paid 2 months before travel. At 6 months, we request that you purchase your airline tickets and send us your flight confirmation for your team with a photo copy of every traveler’s passport information page. Every team member needs to be booked on the same flight. We register every traveler to the U.S. Embassy in the country we are traveling to in case of a lost passport, etc. Everything you need is included in your trip cost except your Visa fee (if required) and your personal spending money. Meals, transportation, lodging, sightseeing, are all included and all you will need to bring is spending money for any personal between meal snacks while out or shopping for souvenirs.
